Die Crysis, die

In a thrilling twist to expectation the subject does in fact translate to 'The Crysis, the'
As a person who rarely actually buys a game I was thrilled to see that my friend owned crysis and asked to borrow it (in fairness I have promised to lend him Assassin's Creed, a game which I borrowed off another friend, who has it on Xbox and PC and himself didn't pay for it, we're such spongers)

Anyway, my friend and the game are German, and the alternative languages are Russian and Turkish, so no help there. I've started a new game and the dialogue's Deutsch, as are the tutorial instruction things. I studied German at school but don't know much. In fairness the language is unlikely to be what stops me playing the game, my computer was sexy and high powered when i got it but now may not cope with the notoriously demanding graphics... Also i have a degree to do at some point.

So, what do we reckon? Can I play this game? Can i find an English manual online? I dare say gamefaqs might have one, and a script in fact too. Have any of you played a game in a language you don't understand too well? Should i even bother? Gonna finish lunch now then maybe see if i can play a bit...

Just ignore the talking, and focus on the shooty.

Only thing that can go bad, is just to not know how to rebind keys (assuming you're on PC), and the solution to that is to take a screenshot of the menu screen and get a friend who speaks the language to translate for you.

... why don't you just buy an english version? Bet you can find one second hand for a tenner.

edit: actually, fuck it, it's a shooter, the controls are point and click. and tone down the graphics settings if your PC is struggling.

I'm just saying here, but "die" is the feminine form of "the" and Crysis features a male protagonist.

Of course I'm also at least 10 years post taking german in high school so what do I know?
