Difficult or just Insane

Every FPS I have ever played. I just cannot "lern 2 play" that genre at all for some reason, even on the easiest difficulty, and not for lack of trying. I have tried several and actually own a few, but I just cannot for the life of me get past around the third stage of any of them (except Portal, where you can actually have the time to set up your shot without being threatened constantly). If anything, I actually have too much twitch. Whenever I get hit I end up spinning and jumping around like a madman trying to find and shoot whatever hit me and just end up dying. Not to mention I have horrible aim in those games.

And also, Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. Dang karma. End of story on that one.

The highest difficulty modes in most shooters I have(like Call of Duty and Halo) make the entire game turn into trial and error gameplay where you have to find the 1 safe path and kill every enemy before getting hit with 1 bullet.

Oh, and I might sound like a huge Poké-nerd saying this, but Whitney, the third gym leader in gold/silver? Or maybe it was the second? I don't recall, all I remember is a blinding amount of rage directed towards a Miltank and several hundred racial/gender obscenities in a battle that just ended with me burning through an asston of super potions and Ibuprofen.

She was the 3rd gym leader and I hated her with a vengence. Also Jasmine's Steelix was just straight up evil.

I can't get through GTA: Chinatown Wars. The controls are a pain, and it just hasn't drawn me in like other games do. I've heard nothing but good news about it, but it just isn't doing it for me.

Have you ever tried Modern Warfare 'No Fighting in the War Room' or 'Mile High Club' on Veteran? Those are the only two things where difficulty alone made me give up.

Watched my buddy beat the Mile High Club and we both totally freaked out. When we told everyone, they just said "You know Black Ops is out, right?"
Completely killed out happiness.

I used to think the final final final star of Super Mario Galaxy 2 (aptly named "The Perfect Run") required superhuman platforming skills to beat, as for the longest time I couldn't even get past the 3rd or 4th area. Then, many months later, I picked it up again just to show some friends how ridiculous it was. A few tries later, I got past the area where I kept dying and just kept going and eventually got the star. Something must have clicked that time.

As for Dragon Age: Origins, that game is hard. Plain and simple. I had to turn it down to Easy early on in the game. Getting Wynne helps a lot too, but the combat can get dull at times, so do what you have to to get though the slower parts.

Have you ever tried Modern Warfare 'No Fighting in the War Room' or 'Mile High Club' on Veteran? Those are the only two things where difficulty alone made me give up. I got through Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II eventually with practice, but those two levels simply cannot be done by mere men.

I guess that makes me some kind of god then.

OT: Mass Effect 2 on Insanity was so frustratingly impossible. There was just so many sections where I would get stuck for ages only to finally get through it then get stuck 10 minutes later on another planet.

See, now I have no problem with Mass Effect 2 on Insanity. Because there's no freaking TIMER! Stupid Modern Warfare...

Yes, in fact I have. Someone try to beat the Advanced campaign of the original Advance Wars and get back to me. Hardest campaign EVER, despite Max being an absolute powerhouse/overpowered in this game.

OT: Definitely the Expert runs in Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. I can play Advanced with bots and still manage to beat the level, but I've never been able to complete an expert campaign without failing at least 10-15 times.

I can complete an expert campaign on Left 4 Dead with one other buddy and two bots to stay behind as zombie bait, but all bots is just horrendous..

The Prinny Can I Really Be the Hero? DLC called "Li'l Asagi Comes Home". The level is ridiculously insanely hard, but I managed to eventually get through it. However, then I died over 200 times at the boss of the stage and gave up. It got to the point where I was too tired to mash the attack button anymore. I was physically incapable of beating that stage.

I give up when the game becomes bullshit or my fingers bleed. Whichever comes first (or if I get really pissy and have to cool off because my fun game experience has become not fun and thus counter-productive).

Dead Space 2 - Hardcore mode.

You can only save three times, and you have to restart at your last save if you die. WELCOME TO HELL.

Try getting S in Onimusha. You have to finish the game without saving once and within a ridiculously small time frame without using healing items. Yeah.

Oh and, the achievement for SMB, "Impossible Boy." You have to finish Cotton Alley without dying.

Regarding Dragon Age, I have two suggestions:
Get the DLC for the game. You get some sweet rewards for beating the DLC, which can make the game much easier. Selling that Golem's mace that you get gives you 350 gold, which allows you to buy some of the more powerful items.
Set the game on casual. This makes a world of difference in many of the boss fights.
Get Wynn. Have her learn Cleansing Aura. Have Morrigan become a Spirit Healer and have her learn that too. Amazing how much easier the game is when you don't have to worry about healing so much.

Ah yes, Modern Warfare. I had given up on Mile High on Veteran but after a year of serious online play decided to give it another go, 40 minutes later i got a smoking hot achievement and i was just besides myself. Havent bothered to do another COD all the way through on veteran though.

That would be my most difficult game too. I really hated the Chernobyl mission too... wave after wave. I hid in a stall.

Racing games are hard too. Never can beat Ai on hard without crashing into them like a d-bag. I suck at racing games though.
