I have some issues with this because when a game is on it's harder difficulty they make the player a wimp and a enemy overpowered i would like a game that improve the enemy A.I instead of overpowered it because in most games i don't enjoy the difficulty levels they aren't fair challenges

Do you have the same issues?

No. I just look at it as a challenge to overcome. I get killed if I'm so much as brushed by a leave? Bring it on!

I don't have any issues of that nature but try Demon's Souls, that should change your point of view.

I am tired of "Higher Difficulty=More Damage/Less Health"
My buddy says Crysis does a better job at the difficulty thing. The higher the difficulty, the less intel you get or something like that. All I know is at the highest difficulty, he says the enemies start speaking in Korean and are trained mercs.

Yeah i think that Crysis is the only game that does that also enemies use a lot more cover

Sounds better than World at War on Veteran.

The grenades. The fucking grenades.

Strangely enough, Modern Warfare 2 is for the most part quite good on Veteran. To me, it was very hard, but I never once found myself pulling my hair out while playing it on Veteran. It was just that fun to me.
Yeah I couldn't do it in WaW either but it was easy in Black Ops.

I've found Mount & Blade is pretty good on the difficulty setting, as instead of the Easy/Medium/Hard standard you get to pick and customise various sliders to make it more challenging. Ie: Enemy & Friendly AI ability & tactics, ability to scale damage received, etc. It can really change the feel of the game without making it unfair, as at the 'Highest' end enemy forces are able to give and receive the same punishment as you (no cheapness), and are really smart about how they do it too.

But yeah, I tend to shy away from the 'Buffing enemies = higher difficulty' parts of gaming, and in general I'm getting the impression that it's a "Cost effective" method of game design nowadays, where as before I could understand it from a technical limitation point of view.

I enjoy Ninja Gaiden's difficulties, I actually hope Ninja Gaiden 3 will be much more difficult. I like an increase that means 'You need to think about what you're doing/have faster reaction time.' than the 'Game's exactly the same but the dudes have more health and do more damage.' schtick.
