Fuck yeah, Digimon! Digimon is basically a darker version of Pokemon, 'cept more kick-ass awesome.
I remember the theme song n' all, friggin' awesome dude. My favorite is the 3rd season, that was really dark and mature compared to the previous 2 seasons (which were pretty mature in their own right at times). I watched up until the 4th season, it definitely had it's moments and still kept a more mature tone, if a little watered down. Probably #3 on my favorites list.

Then season 5 came along....the "family friendly" season....

In all honesty, I have hardly watched any episode of Season 5, but what I have seen looks like absolute tripe.

What I liked about the other seasons of Digimon is that as it progressed, you saw the deterioration of the Digiworld. The world itself was crumbling as things got more dire. It definately gave it a sense of maturity to it, and it actually had definted regions within it, unlike Pokemon where there's one town after another after another and they NEVER talk about it again.

Jeez, I think I'm going too deep into it.

Whatever, I loved Digimon, even the supposed "bad" 4th season, it did at least try to change things up slightly with the relationships between the digimon and their trainers. Hell, "someone" supposedly died or something like that, wouldn't want to give too much away (besides, I hardly remember it).

It gave mature storytelling to a younger audience with developed relationships between every character. It will always have a place in my heart.

I used to watch it as a kid. It was good back in the day. I kinda got lost and gave up as the seasons went on. There was one season where the kids merged with the digimon @.@

Yeah, that would be the end of Season 3.

or season 4 from what it sounds like. Yes, Takato and others merged to become ultimate (Or was it mega?) level digimon, but the season four guys had to become digimon themselves to even make it to champion level.

Nope, just watched it as a kid. Though I did have a discussion with some friends about it a while ago, after which I looked up some info on wikipedia. Apparently there's a Digimon called 'Omnimon'... Is it just me, or does that just seem a little bit overkill?

Omnimon only got two showings:
1: end of season one I believe, to defeat Mystomon's final form.
2: the first Digimon movie, where they had to kill this weird digimon/virus/spider thing.

Ah Digimon, I mostly remember the kick-ass opening theme from the show.

Other than that I don't really remember much from the show, I think I shall re-watch it some, even if it is only for the awesome opening theme.

"Omnimon" is overkill? Read up on a bit of the Mythos.... Omnimon(Omegamon in Japan) Is the current leader of the Royal Knights, a group of powerufl digimon serving the main computer of the Digital World, Yggdrasil. Omnimon's rank is second only to Alphamon ( thus forming the Alpha and the Omega)

I quit watching Digimon after season 3. I liked 3 the best, but after watching a couple episodes of 4, I realized that they would not capture lighting in a bottle twice. I then stopped.

I loved the first two seasons. I vastly preferred them to the Pokemon anime (due to its decent storyline and whatnot) even though I was ridiculed for liking it.
I never saw Season three because Cheez TV wouldn't air it (weird, I know).
Season 4... Was different. It was closer to Power Rangers than Digimon, but since I liked Power Rangers, I welcomed this with open arms.

However, I saw some subbed episodes once (i.e. in Japanese) and the voice acting was far better than the dubbed version. I was actually moved by the characters and their anguish, as weird as that may sound. Now I hate the company in charge of the dubbed version for making it for small children ONLY, leaving out everyone else who might actually appreciate it on another level.

Digimon was pretty cool. I liked it quite a lot when I was younger. The only real piss off I had about it was the overuse of the prefix 'digi'.

I had a few of the little digimon things that were like tamagotchi's only cooler 'cause they fight.

The first season was decent, the rest was absolute shit. Though I can't look back at it in a good way now that I've had it all ruined by that annoying guy on these forums pretending he has one with him.

I agree the first season was the best, I really liked the second one too, though I never really watched past season 2 they were awesome, after that they just bored me, I think the one the annoying guy pretends to have is from 3.

The only one I watched since the original was Savers ("Data Squad"), and I liked the different take on it. Soichiro Hoshi remains one of the few Japanese voice actors I pay attention to.

I watched the original season when it first aired on Fox kids but after that I didn't bother with it. Probably cause I slept in on Saturdays and had already found Toonami. But then again, never really liked the new characters or creatures that came after season three. The whole alt universe where Digimon were just a card game was kinda cool and interesting but I had already started to watch shows like Gundam Wing and DBZ so the animation style wasn't really my demo anymore.

I only ever watched the first season, and a few episodes of the second season.

I did enjoy the show though, and I liked the games as well.

Especially rumble arena, could play that game for hours. Oh and the final boss, Reapermon. He was a ***** to fight.

The intro was awesome too.
