Why are they using swords?

they use different weapons as well but yea they should be using there normal attacks but it is good if you like digimon and you want a tough single player game seriously it took me about 40 hours just to beat the game on normal difficulty. also am I the only one who would want a rumble arena 3 made by the guys who made brawl, because that would be awesome.

Digimon is and always will be the most freaking awesome anime ever. I loved the show when I was a kid, recently rewatched season 1 (season 2 is decent, but the original is the best). I'd definitely pick Patamon, he and TK are just awesome.

Also, Digital Card Battle on the PS1 was my favouritest game ever. I recently replayed it for nostalgia's sake, and was pleased to discover that it's actually a really cool game.

I collected the cards for a bit back then... but the most notable one for me would be the FIRST PS1 Game.

I miss it any Digimon world game after that just kinda sucks... WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CARD BATTLE GAME.

Only one way to go. I have always chosen Virus type digimon.
As a general rule they're more powerful than the others, but have something wrong, like low speed, difficult training, etc.
Partner digimon? Well if we're talking Rookies, I would have to go BlackAgumon.

I liked the first 2 seasons, the first one got me hooked and the second one was the new generation, closely related to the events and characters of the first one (wasn't the gang of kids in GEN 2 the children of GEN 1?). The third one I found a bit meh and the fourth one lost me completely. I don't know if there were any other generations after that.

Oh and I would definitely would pick the fusion of [insert kinda dragon looking monster] with [the mechanical wolf] that we saw in the first movie as my favorite. I may have forgotten the names (they both had super in their names, that much I remember), but it's been years alright? I remember peeing myself with glee whenever I watched that on my video tape (yes, not DVD, TAPE, as in VHS)!

If I had a qualm with the series it was in how they tried to reconcile movies with the series while still making them complete bull since when did mega evolving angemon and angewoman unleash golden digi eggs I never saw that in the series and then when dna digivolveing is introduced in the series izzy i think recalls omnimon from the movie

I like Pokemon for the games more, but the first two seasons of the Digimon anime were leagues better than its competition. The series wasn't afraid to tackle issues like death and psychological trauma on a regular basis. Moreover, the villains were genuine threats who looked and acted the part. Try comparing the likes of Pokemon's Team Rocket

...with Digmon's Devimon (who in the grand scheme of things turned out to be a relatively minor villain)

...and you'll see what I mean.

Unfortunately the Digimon anime went downhill after the second season and I lost interest.

I used to love Digimon. Played most of the games, and of them all, I'd say Digimon World 3 was the best. 1 was a 3D tamagotchi pet, 2 was a half-assed dungeon crawler, and 4 was... lets just say it was bad. At least 3 tried to have a story (and one that wasn't too bad, if a little predictable), and except for the ridiculous requirements for unlocking advanced forms, was fairly well balanced.

As far as the anime, Seasons 1 and 2 were great. Season 3 was ok, it took an interesting spin on the world established at the end of season 2. Season 4 (what is it with Digimons and 4's?) was terrible. Nice premise (humans turning into Digimons), but it really had nothing to do with the franchise except as an excuse to reuse characters (and they didn't even do that, really). I never saw season 5, but I saw the game based on it (Data Squad, something), it looked interesting, but not particularly so.

As far as my own partner, It has and always will be my buddy Kotemon.

He's an awesome little dude, and his bladed evolutions are equally awesome (not to scale).

I watched the first series back when it aired and loved it. Watched it every day after that. Of course, being in Britain, I stopped after the third series since it stopped being shown. I can catch the fifth series now though, so that's... acceptable. I've watched them all now though and consider myself a fan of it. ESPECIALLY the third series and the original PS1 game. I hold them both above pretty much everything.

I had watch all the series until they stop showing it in the UK (when they aired Digimon Frontier, it didn't get aired in the UK). Well I watch a bit of this other version were the protagonist is a older teen and own Agumon with a wrist strab on his hands (however I found the protagonist too much of an idiot to be watch enjoyable).
I would like to know which Digimon would be my partner but is there is site that show a galleries of them including the digivolves? Since I find its take too long just to randomly search by hands.

Well, started to saw the first on TV. Reminded me of Pokemon. Guess that's why I sticked to it although the first season was... dunno. It didn't appeal to me as much as I wanted. Second season was even meh. And then came Digimon Tamers which I fell in love.
Stoped whaching after it was over. I wanted to keep the magic.

...also what to you like about digimon the most?
How it reminds me of Pokemon? Heck, I don't know. I was young back then. Guess the ideia to have a talking pet was awesome enough to keep me entertained.

What digimon to you think you would get as a partner?
Easy question. Guilmon duh! (Yeah, I'm biased)

Pokemon games > digimon, by FAAAAR.

ALL digimon anime is more intersting and narrativly complex than pokemons.

Digimon is the only anime I've ever enjoyed, it's basically a part of my childhood. I LOVE Digimon. Well, LOVED it, I guess.

Also, the show brought this into the world:

I mean, it's a walrus with a horn, a spiky shell, and a giant hammer. That's fucking badass.

I liked the first season and looking back those background colors made my eyes bleed(from kuwagamon to piedmon its awesome.)
wasnt a real fan of the second series cept for cody and armadillomon.
I love series 3 though and how it was akin to neon genesis evangelion.
i dont see why people knock series 4, 5 was the one that sucked.
maybe serie 6 will be better.

well it is just that for me and most people it was about the tamers and their relationship with their Digimon so making the tamers become he Digimon took that away, and because of that season four barely got a look so for all I know it could be good and that caused season five not to get a look.

I have only ever watched the first series of Digimon. I have heard terrible things about everything after that.

they aren't as good as the first series (one of the best children tv shows ever) but they are still good except for the fourth season were the people turn into digimon rather then have digimon partners when I found that out all I saw was red followed by a back alley and a lot of blood that wasn't mine. After that rage I haven't seen any more of the fourth season or any of the fiveth and sixth season.

Second is good, third is bearable, for everything after that you'll need a strong and a trained mind. (4th is kids turning into Digimon and I avoided the 5th in fear of my mental safety)

The first is the best of all of them, the second is okay and the characters from the first are in it. It ends with an epilogue of the futures of each main character from the second and first.

The third devolved after a while to the point where I was only watching it for Calumon, there's a point in there when I thought "why on earth would you do that? That character already has a fairly crap existence and...*spoilers*". Everything after the third is sheer torture.

The first game is pretty good too.
My partner would be Gabumon, Gatomon or marineangemon.
