With our technology and what we can make look real and whatnot, what's to say anything we see will be real or not? Matrix anyone?
Aha, but you're trying to make a Matrix reference based on the argument that the technology you see 'inside' is advanced? You so funny. Nah, nah... You're in a sewer on a drug trip, as per The Futurological Congress by Stanislav Lem.shadowstriker86 said:With our technology and what we can make look real and whatnot, what's to say anything we see will be real or not? And as for this, I heard about that in my Metaphysics course. And all I have to say is that, lately, people only use philosophy to paint whatever shape of the world is convenient for them, rather than addressing and dealing with what's in their face, regardless of whether it exists for them or not.scrambledeggs said:You're approaching a strand of philosophy called Epistemology
lol you sound just like my friend, only his matrix was steven speilberg and his degree was in film. but i wasnt praising the film, just making a reference pointAmethyst Wind said:I'm not sure I'd call this epistemology, probably closer to existentialism. Well a bit of both really, since they are related.
Oh, and to the thread-starter. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SHUT UP ABOUT THE MATRIX! I had to deal with this shit for three years while getting my degree in Philosophy. The Matrix is 2 hours of fucking plagiarism, there are no original concepts in that film anywhere, they are copies from psychologists, philosophers, politicians, environmentalists, and several religions. The Matrix is worthless, I really can't stand people acting like 1999 was when these ideas were thought up, every single concept in the Matrix predates the film by a good 300 years at least, some by millenia.
God I hate that film so much!
Removed some critical words there for you, motorbike guy.zeldakong64 said:Also, Tron covered the same ideas as The Matrix. The Matrix was ... coherent![]()
