Hi, I feel this is 100% legal, if you don't that's fine, but please hear me out.

I've bought a legitimate copy of Dirt 3, for PC. I've installed it, and connected it to my years old Windows Live account, with the key provided. Therefore, I should be able to log onto any computer with Dirt 3, log into my Windows Live, and run the game.

However, the game insists, despite the online account based DRM, that I 'still' have to have the DVD in the drive.

With every other game I'm currently playing I don't need to (The Witcher 2, Deus Ex, KOTOR 2), but this one I do, I've tried various forms of .iso and other assorted image file types, but the securom7 is blocking me from using them.

Any advice? Please don't say 'just use the DVD' because this is advice on how to avoid doing that.

Further information, my DVD is 10+ years old, hence why I prefer to leave it empty unless completely necessary.

Cracked .exes (which is what No-DVD fixes are) for games you legitimately own are a grey area in Oz law, so not completely legal so to speak.

Yeah, one exists for Dirt 3 but due to forum rules/site policy I'm not gonna link you. You'll have to google it.

Oh yeah, and even with a legit serial number there's still a chance that you'll get blocked from online play...
