I'd tell you all my secrets, but I lie about my past...

I have no secrets I own my actions.
Isn't that Tom Waits? I can't remember what song exactly... *strokes chin*

OP: First dirty secret that comes to mind is a recent one - on my seconds, harder, playthrough of DA2 I couldn't beat the elder dragon so I turned down the difficulty all the way to casual so I could get on with the game. The shame burns like a thousand suns.

I hate the COD 3 with a burning passion. I still love the Game Cube.

I can't stand the Half-Life series, the graphics give me a headache so I can't play it for more than an hour at a time. What I've played, I'm not a fan of.

Also, I teabag just to piss you off.
I didn't know that Half-Life's graphics could give people headaches.

I've never played either uncharted but I think I'm going to pick them up sometime soon.

Like many I haven't played any half life game or Portal.

I had a game shark for Pokemon: Silver and therefore had lots of Level 100 Pokemon :)

I've owned a PS3 for nearly a year now and I haven't played a single FPS on it.

I've been playing The Sega mega Drive collection for PS3 this past week, and while there are a few gems on it, for the most part OLD GAMES SUCK.

I always set a game to the hardest difficulty available on first time start-up.
I usually don't tell anyone that's why it takes so long for me to get through games, but that's what's fun for me, even on murderously difficult games like COD on a first time run.

No pain no gain? not so much, more like "no difficulty no enjoyment"

Oh boy this will get interesting :p
I think GTA IV is one of the best games ever
Never played any FF games
Never played any Mass Effect games
WaW was pretty good
The only nintendo games I've owned are Warrio and Pokemon Red
I played L4D for exactly 1 hour and I think Portal and TF2 are huuuugely overrated

That is all
for now

I always roll female characters when given the option because I usually find the male counterparts to be either ridiculously over-muscular or find the male voice actors to be unrelatable. I don't care for steam. I bought and played Naughty Bear for about 3 hours. And finally I occasionally sabotage team play games if I get bored or annoyed... I'm a terrible terrible person :(

I hated Half-Life. I just thought it was terrible. The first hour or so was pretty interesting, but then it totally bored me. I got as far as 10 minutes beofre the end boss, then I watched the end on youtube. I just didnt want to fight it. The only reason I was playing was to understand half-life 2. Which is awesome, even if I dont understand at all what is going on.

I also have a pile of crappy cheap JRPGs that I hoped would be awesome

I like games that let me play dress up with my characters.

Seriously, if a game has character customization in it, visual customization, it gets an automatic interest point for me.
This is what really sold me on The Last Story. You can give chracters many different kinds of clothes (most of which work on men and women), change the colours, and what accessories are attached. You need to get clothes first thoughAt the start, you can make 1 male character look awesome, and everyone else looks flambouyant as hell.

Thank god someone said it. I thought this game was alright while in the vault, but an hour after leaving, I got bored out of my mind. Sure its nice the worlds all big, but itd be nice if there was actually something there. Everything seems to drag on too.

Zelda is a terrible series.
JRPG's are all terrible, none of them have anything remarkable about them.
I think Notch is a terrible developer who is incredibly lazy and should fix his broken game.

In terms of Escapist readers: I couldn't get in to Silent Hill 2. The survival horror genre has just never really excited me.

I still have a Gamecube, and the only game i play i play on it is Pokemon: XD Gale Of Darkness.

I Don't like Morrowind and i can NEVER get into Oblivion.

Fallout: NV seems crap, but i don't wan't to sell it because i know in about a year i will love it (happened with Fallout 3)

Half Life just seems like a mediocre game, and i don't see why it seems to be Gods gift to gamers.

I find it hard to play Pokemon Red and Blue because of Sprites like these......

Most of them gave me Nightmares :( Exeggcute and Exeggutor are prime culprits :( no wonder i hate eggs now :p

Hrm... *ponders*

I don't really have any "dirty secrets" so much, as I just throw it all out there for the world.

I loathe every Final Fantasy after the SNES as ostentatious junk with generic storylines, generic j-pop crap characters, horridly lengthy cinema scenes which make the actual gameplay seem unnecessary by comparison... just boringly predictable trite garbage...

I've played HALO, all three originals, OST and Reach and found them all to be practically identical and equally drab and uninteresting...

My favorite FPS's are "Blood" and "Shadow Warrior" despite their horrid bugs and showing their age BADLY. They were FUN. Remember fun?

I will NOT be buying MVC3, as I refuse to pay 60$ for a game that ships with an extra 20$ of DLC described intricately in it's official strategy guide. I made the pact with two friends present that I will not buy it until it's on the "Best Sellers" sale rack for a 20.

I liked DOW more than DOW2, I always play as the Orks and despite my views on sexism, I really wish they hadn't included the Sisters of Battle.

I'm sick to death of online multiplayer. I remember when gamers hated the overly show-off jock asshat mentality, competitive males pushing each other around in some sad display of reptilian brain dominant behaviour. Now they do it to each other online all the time. Every game from iphone time sink apps to cute little puzzlers have some online leaderboard bragging rights feature and to me it's all a load of rubbish. I played SF2 because I didn't want to muck about with other people at the moment, not because I wanted some sort of digital pissing contest with every bloke on the planet...

I absolutely adore Splatterhouse on the 360 and would recommend it to anyone.

I'll just end this here...

Alienating yourself from good games is never a good thing to do. If you legitimately don't like a game, I'm perfectly fine with that, but if you don't play a game because what you think you know about the game makes you think its terrible well...like said a lot, don't judge a book by its cover. Only reason I say this is because back when Minecraft first came out, I was like most of the people and thought it was a shitty game because of graphics. I was never more wrong. Turns out its a wonderful game full of good design and (mostly) good enemies. I am not some diehard Minecraft fan, but any person with eyes can see it IS a good game.

As for me, I haven't ever played a Solid Snake game. Or any of the Silent Hill games.

I think its just slow to start. Once you are able to get the perk that gets you more ammo when you find it, the entire game feels a lot more open. Really though, i think its something you have to set your mine on. I'm currently trying to complete every quest for the Platinum Trophy in the game. I have Tesla Armor and a Plasma rifle. Only things that possibly give me trouble now are Super Mutant Masters :D

I got as far as trying to find the radio dish for 3 dog. It was pretty much tunnel sections which consisted of Bandits, Ghouls, and then occasional Super-Mutants. Everything looked the same. I just got lost and bored.

I actually enjoyed myself the first hour in the wastes. I went the complete wrong way and started just killing stuff and talking to people. Then I went into the storyline, and found the same 3 weapons, same 3 enemies, and the same 2 locations for the next 10 hours.

Theres also my usual problem with WRPGs. You find an awesome piece of armour, but you arent a high enough level to equip it. And getting to that level could take from 3 hours to 30 hours. So you decide to hang onto it, but your inventory is full. So you dump some stuff and after 15 hours youre a high enough level to wear it. But you have to go on a quest to figure out how to put youre arms through the sleeves. Except you dont know who to talk to.

After hours of searching, you find the guy who gives you the quest, but youre not charismatic enough to convince him to show you how to put your arms through the sleeves. And how do I get my charisma up? Well go up a few levels and focus on those skills. So I shoot the guy in the face for being a prick and not teaching me how to dress myself, do something else, save the game, and now I cant do the goddman quest to wear the goddamn armour. So I sell it, and find at the shop an awesome gun. But I cant buy it because I need science skills for some arbitrary reason.

This continues till the end where I get a silly ending, because to unlock the true ending I had to shake a mans hand at the start of the game, in may when the moon is full, with at least 3 women and one pig witnessing it.

Forgive me,father,for I have sinned.

I think Arcanum was one of the best games of all time and it shits on nearly everything coming out lately including games that I love from the bottom of my heart like ME and DA.

I've got a vague idea that Zelda is about some boy and his fairy.

Never completed any Mario games.Even back in the day if I had to choose between Mario and Duck Hunter I'd choose Duck Hunter.

I've spent 3 months not leaving my house playing WoW for 18 hours a day.I trolled the entire server, started a guild war between my guild and some polish guild that decided to try and troll me(result was a 500 person polish guild spitting on each of my guild members) oh and I created massive bear drama. Was so lols xD.I now recall my stupidity and embarreses the shit outta me.

I've seen screenshots of Minecraft but I don't exactly know what it's about.

I liked CNC4.

Oh and I'm very jumpy.Dead Space 1 and 2 scare the shit outta me.When I was playing Dead Space 1 I was so afraid that a zombie might jump me and I wouldn't be able to escape that I moved around 1 corridor per 5 minutes.

I find EA's marketing campaigns for Dead Space and Dante's Inferno to be hilarious and were actually a major selling point for me :D.
