Ok. Your watching your favourite movie. This one event has been hyped up all throughout and its finally here. The big face-off...and it sucks. Basically, talk about one of the most disappointing anti-climaxes you've seen in any form of media.
Personally, I'm going to have to say Superman: Red Son. Now let me get this outta the way before I start. I LOVE Superman. He's one of my favourite heroes. So when I discovered Mark Miller actually wrote a morality story set in an altered Cold War featuring reinterpreted DC characters I was stoked and for good reason. Overall, the book is great.
But to me bring back to my point. It was in Chapter 2 that the Green Lantern Corp finally reared its head and from that point on Lex Luthor drops hints as to his plans for the Power Ring and Lantern in Chapter 3. Something bout a Marine Corp led by some POW by the name of Jordon. Now it seems that this is going to be big. Superman is FINALLY going to meet his match against a tough, brutal Hal Jordon backed by not only a power ring but by an ENTIRE PLATOON of Green Lanterns. Without ruining anything, the fight is over before it ever began. Miller actually states well beforehand that Superman has gotten unbelievable powerful during his lifetime but just all the hype said that this was going to be a venerable clash of the titans.
A great book but you lied to me! IWANTMYLANTERNSUPERMANFIGHT!!
