For my birthday I used to go to a place called Todai, it was an all you can eat buffet that featured sushi. I think the franchise is still alive, but they closed down the one in Portland OR.
Probably because the majority of people only ate there once a year when you get a 2 for 1 deal.
They had fried food, salad bar, a crepe building station, froyo, etc. but there were only 2 reasons I ever went there.
They had so much sashimi and sushi.
I would load up on Unagi, Tamago, Inari, Tuna, and Mackerel nigiri, the fish egg one, spicy tempura rolls and pickled ginger because I'm the only person I know that likes it.
Then I would go to the dessert bar. It was filled with individual slices of tiny tiny cakes and pies ._.
They had adorably wee little creme brules and mousses, and tiny cookies.
They also closed down another Portland birthday destination called Greek Cuisina. They made the best baclava...
