Around 10 minutes ago I finished recording a playthrough of Portal with some live commentary over it just to put some variety on my youtube channel. What I was wondering is if anyone had ideas for discussion topics for these things that I will inevitably do more of in the future. I feel like I was just droning on and on about random stuff in the Portal thing and I would like to try and avoid doing something like that in the future. Thanks for any help provided!

You could make a criticism out of it. As you play discuss the positive and negative elements of the game according to your personal feelings, but at the same time discuss how your opinions may differ from those of everybody else's. If you think a lot of people dislike a specific aspect of a game and you disagree, discuss why you have those differences.

Also could you link to the Portal playthrough? Thanks.

The best kinds of Let's Plays are those that show the game and supplement the material in it with information. Yes, you can joke around, but your main function should be information.

Easter eggs, references from other games, references IN other games of specific parts, information of things carrying over to the sequel, game mechanics info, or just fun facts. All of these things are good.

EDIT: And you might want to pick newer/obscure games to do if you decide to do it again in the future. I'm not knocking your choice in game, it's just that games like Portal are *buried* under a mass of similar videos.
