Is it just me or does everything on the Disney channel make you want to eradicate everyone that has this sense of humor!! I just saw a commercial on Adult Swim for a new comedy show thats coming up on the Disney channel and it just filled me with rage with how stupid their sense of humor is for these 12 year olds!(mainly refering to the non-cartoon comedies) Usually I would stay as far away as possible from something that enrages me this much but my girlfriend that i live with constantly plays the disney channel while she baby sits and even when she doesnt baby sit! She doesnt watch it when Im around though cause she knows how much it gets on my nerves and im always telling her that it bothers me that she watches this crap! So I guess my question to you is, do these crazy terrible kid shows cause such bad taste for comedy or is it the other way around?
P.S. Bring back Ren and Stimpy so we can have messed up kids like I was!

I have found myself many times being sucked into watching things like iCarly at my friend's house... I really don't see any problem with them.

If by eradicate you mean genocide, yes. There are not enough negative words in the English dictionary to describe how bad these shows are. Especially the "kids sitcom" type shows. My sister had Disney on and that fagtacular show Jonas started. I immediatley wanted to take take the TV outside and put a few 5.56mm rounds through it...but ammunition is expensive. The only thing I watch on TV is Adult Swim, South Park, and NASCAR.

Kids these days don't know quality. You could argue that times change, but then you'd be admitting that you've never seen this shit.

Most common joke:
"Oh hey we need to get some CHICKS!"
"Yeah but my mom grounded me for (insert stupid act of vandalism)"
*laugh track*

You think 5.56mm is expensive?! Try shooting a .300 WinMag, damn thing runs me about $2.00 a pop. Thats why I got myself a nice Russian gun (Mosin-Nagant 91/30) that shoots the 7.62x54R, picked up a whole box of ammo for it at a surplus store and costs a wallet-friendly 18 cents per shot.

Some aren't 100% bad. The completely disgraceful ones make you want to kill yourself just so you'd never have to deal with them anymore. My sister has it on CONSTANTLY, and I can't tell you how many times I've seen shows like Jonas or GOD FORBID that skateboarding show on and I stay for 3 seconds before realizing that I had more fun with a cast on my arm screaming when I was 6 than watching that utter shit.

No exaggeration.

Disney has dumb shows, like Nick and Cartoon Network. They used to be cool, but now they are not. Simple changin of the times...

All things nowadays are bad! Things were better when I was a kid! You punks get off my lawn!

Seriously though, I tend to agree, but on the other hand, it may just be perspective. I used to make fun of my older cousins for listening to Cyndi Lauper all the time, now I find myself jamming to Blues Traveler while all the cool kids listen to Rihanna.

Damn you, nostalgia, damn you to hell.

This just in:

All kids are fucking idiots, I was an idiot, you were an idiot. There are no exceptions to this rule. If your sitting there thinking "I wasn't an idiot I was really mature as a kid" your an even bigger idiot as you missed out on the idiocy of being a kid.

Thus making it so when you grow out of the idiot stage and go into the know it all stage you look at the kids today and complain. Yes their comedy is shit but it's just as shit as ours was when we where kids.

Sorry if any of this came across as offensive but it's the true.
I can't handle the true!

Live-action children's sitcoms are almost always bad; its been that way as far as I know. There are some teen drama shows that are more respectable, but agian, are dramas about and oriented towards teens, not children.

Still, when I was at my step family's house, my little step sister was watching one of these kinds of shows. I don't know what it was called, but the main characters were like, 12 or something, and making youtube videos. Not only that, but they were told by a stranger on the internet to meet them in real life and they went. Without consequence. It was no big deal that they had gone to meet strangers without telling their parents.

Amusingly enough, I later watched an episode of Static Shock for the sake of nostalgia, and the episode was about how the one-shot character in question got into big trouble with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn 'cause she trusted strangers on the internet.
To quote Static, "People trying to meet kids through the internet is never a good thing."

Its safe to say that I know what I'd prefer my kids to be watching.

I've got two big problems with Disney nowadays, and the first is that everything they serve is simply rehash from an old failed show. For the last ten years they've released teen drama after teen drama, and somehow kids look at how the character's name changed from "Lizzy McGuire" to "Hannah Montana" and decide that they're watching a breathtaking new show, full to the brim with originality and freshness. I swear, there have been so many "Zack and Cody" offshoots, and somehow my sister eats them up with joy. The "musicians," if you can call them that, who Disney promotes are all replays of an old, tired cycle that started with Britney Spears, moved on to Duff, and is now working its magic on Cyrus.
My other, and bigger, problem with Disney is the way it destroys m sister's sense of pride and ambition. As a young girl, she wanted to be a dancer or songwriter. Little has changed to this day, except how she plans on going about her dream. As a little girl she was always trying to write her own stuff, and she dabbled constantly in various instruments like guitar and piano. She was hungry for the knowledge necessary to reach her lofty goal, but that is now gone. In imitation of her hero, Miley Cyrus, she has taken to dancing about in rather embarrassing clothing, doing nothing but covering "Best of Both Worlds" while whining about "that stupid piano she hates so much." My sister no longer wants to work hard and get better at what she does; she hopes to be picked up off the street by Disney, get hyped up whether she has talent or not, and then rake the profits and inevitable movie/TV show deals following.

I don't think that Disney is as much to blame as bad parenting... and South Park. Damn, I hate that show and its shock comedy.

Phineas and Ferb.
The writers from Rocko's Modern Life.

That's about all I can say in their defence.

The rest makes me want to gouge out my earballs and eyedrums.

Disney stopped being good when Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck and Talespin went off the air. And they started to suck when Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers showed up.
