It seems the Disney Channel has become MTV for children these days. Focusing away from what made it great, to pandering to the lowest common denominator. Only instead of reality shows, its crappy pre-teen sitcoms that overrun it. Not to mention, every star on a Disney show has to sing, and sell albums. Because, pre-teen girls love idolized teen stereotypes selling them crappy pop music. Except with MTV, music has been largely forgotten, even dropping "Music Television" from their name. And with the Radio Disney music awards, it's pretty obvious Disney is trying to be a pre-teens version of MTV.

Yes, Mr. Sherlock. It seems you have uncovered this mystery and shown Disney to be the soulless media machine it is and has always been.

Disney's media strategy is not unlike that of Nintendo's. They find a forumla that brings in a steady cash flow, then when they have accrued enough to safely make an investment without a risk of serious loss they invest it in big projects like films or purchasing other media firms (like Lucas Arts). This strategy has worked for decades, and it's likely not going to change any time soon unless their audience grows bored with the formula or goes elsewhere, which will lead to them changing it to better suit the new market
