does anyone else feel like this game cheats the player? I mean I use a skill and the computer changes its behavior so I fail. I love the game but does anyone else feel like me.?

Not paticularly, the only issue I had was with Chaos during the story mode, otherwise it was pretty easy to stomp on the AI, even on expert.

No, well no more than most games focused on combat anyway i.e fighting games of some kind. Its true that the comp does cheat so things like Tifas teleport attacks arent as effective against the comp as a human player for instance because the comp knows exactly when you are doing it but the comp is retarded against some moves and can be very predictable. I remember Chaos was a sucker for Yunas ground laser attack.

Havent played the game in about 2 years though so my memorys a little hazy but I loved it when I was playing and clocked up well over 100 hours in it I just wish it was on home consoles and online because it was actually pretty damn fun and a fairly unique fighter.

I stopped playing because I just couldn't master how to fight with Lightning. Keep meaning to go back to it, because Dissidia one was damn fun. Must have put over 60 hours in to that one.

The key thing to realize about this game is that it is not a "free forming" Action RPG (like Kingdom Hearts), as we are lead to believe when we begin playing with Lightning. Every attack is more akin to a move (i.e. Blitz) and not an actual sword strike. With this in mind, you need to learn about the strength and weaknesses of each attack (speed, sequence, length, cool down, etc.).

Once you are comfortable with your moves, you then need to learn about how to get around (assuming you aren't in RPG mode). Dashing towards and away from your enemy is crucial, as well as dodging and blocking attacks. Also, taking advantage of your terrain will allow you to move about more easily (walking up and around structures), as well as taking cover from certain attacks. Grinding is kind of pointless in this game unless you really need to get away from the enemy.

It's definitely not an easy game to jump into. You need to practice with each individual character and get a feel with how they function. Once you've practiced a character and get used to how they fight, you should be able to take on the campaign and the AI. It's definitely more of a strategical action game than a straight up brawler.

I'm on the kain chapter right now and it is frustrating. so I'm doing what I always do when something like this happens. I take a break from the game for a few days and then come back and try again.

Just picked it up again and have lost four straight on easy. I can't dodge any attacks to save my life. Any suggestions?
Well just practice I guess it probably took me about 10 hours to start getting proficient. I know that not that helpful but really thats all it comes down to in the end. One thing is do NOT mash dodge (or anything in this game as it will get you killed quickly) you have to time it if you dodge too early then they will usually just track you and hit you and ofc during the chase sequences a dodge too early will always meet punishment which took me ages to get down as that shit can get tense and you start to get jumpy.

Also always lock onto them when attacking and dodging if possible although I expect you already do that and ofc dont let yourself be cornered. I dont think all attacks can be dodged though some have to be blocked if I remember correctly. Sometimes its just best to go all out offense though especially if you have a good offense character and make them do more of the dodging. Oh and keep moving.

Man I want to play this game again now I ended up using Tifa mainly I suppose I loved her teleport attacks coming in for a frontal attack teleporting behind an enemy dodging their blow and smashing them into the ground just made me feel totally badass.

I beat feral Chaos but never cleared the labyrinth because tbh I never fully understood it and it was stupid hard.

Is it hard to master Lightning? She is pretty easy to use for me.
After going back to it, it wasn't Lighting, it was Yuna. Her attacks are quite different from the others, and I'm guessing I haven't levelled her enough for the encounters.
