So much better. Ho-ho.

Back on topic: When my PC craps out (which is rarely, ho-ho, OK I'll stop now)
I tend to read a book. It works rather well. I'm on that new Nick Cave book now.
at least you were sarcastic lol

interesting choice though. i would continue the final book in the ender quartet thanks to this idea, but my xbox is supposed to be back tommorow

I read a book. There's lots of novels based on Video games (A LOT more than you might think). Gears of War, Halo, Starcraft, Mass Effect, the list goes on. I shop at Borders, dunno about other bookstores.

Could also use Netflix. Netflix is like Blockbusters, but you don't have to worry about returning the movie, don't need to drive all the way to the store and back (since it comes in the mail), and it's a lot cheaper than renting from video stores. I get 2 movies at once for like $15.00, that's better than Blockbuster. That's a Monthly payment too, Pay 15 a month and get an unlimited amount of movies through the month (two at a time). So, as long as you have movies in your queue, you're good. Also you can stream movies on your PC (and on your 360) if you have a good enough internet connection.

There's also a huge amount of mindless flash games that are also fun on the internet. Stickpage.com, etc.

Not to mention the various PC games you can play on your new laptop. Merry Christmas! :)

My 360 has broken 4 times thus far. Two were under warranty, but two others weren't.

Christ dude, I could give you 100 PC games that run on my "rig" which cost me a total of 250 dollars.

Hell, everything from before the year 2002 runs on pretty much any PC, including the one you typed this message on.

That said, I bust out some old games I never beat and have fun with those, or I pull out an old console, or if I had none of those, I'd probably just, I dunno, play guitar or something...

Buy the Orange box for your laptop, you would be able to run portal and TF2. Alternatively just buy TF2 or read a book or blow something up...

I fried my Wii a long time ago (long story short, the Wii's USB ports are not as good as those in a proper computer.), and I've been gaming on my PC ever since.

I've also never had a problem with it.

Though one of the bulbs in my server's monitor did die once, and that took a few days to fix.

So ya, I play all my games on PC when a console dies.

I spent 1800 total. 1200 for just the tower.

Honestly? I read a book when my system is down.

Reading.

It's almost a second job for me really, considering that I have a bad habit of acquiring books faster than I read them.

Honestly though, for all the howling I've heard about the old Red-Ring-O'-Death I've never had any problems with my 360.

So yeah.

Also, knitting and baking.

...

Don't look at me like that.

Being lazy is a really poor excuse when you're talking about putting forth the effort to search the forums before making a new thread. It's not like you're being asked to participate in a ten mile hike, for goodness sake.

On topic, I had my PS2 for that sad, sad week when my 360 was undergoing repairs. I'd waited that long to step into the next generation of gaming, so another week of Armored Core 2, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Bully didn't seem like such a bad trade.

lmao.

also, thanks for your guys's input. this is actually interesting to see just how many people read when theyre bored instead of something like i just did earlier, which was pirate a GBA emulator and a few roms. was playing some fucking yu-gi-oh lol. but anyway, its nice to see through my own post that most escapists are actually intellectuals instead of asshole trolls.

Well for me personally I just dust off my original Xbox and play some Fable, Otogi: Myth of Demons, Halo, Halo 2 and a few others.
But of course now that a 'friend' borrowed it and I've never seen it returned to me or my copy of Fable, or my copy of Otogi I guess I'd go back even further and play with my Atari 2600.

Also there are DVD's to watch and books to read and people to socialise with, I have a fairly active household.

Well I am not going to say reading as I do that even when my xBox is working fine.
Although when it did RROD I went out with Uni friends for a night out.
The next day I took it into my mate who worked at Game and he replaced for me.

Trying to justify making a repeat thread by saying your "lazy" doesnt make it any less annoying.
1 - Laziness is hardly a justification.

2 - It actually makes it more annoying. The OP knows it's a repeat thread, but can't be bothered doing anything about it, and admits it.

Although I'm not sure this is a repeat topic. I think that it might be original, or at least in a small number of threads.

OT : My 360 has only RRoD'd once, and I got a new one a week later. I just went on the Escapist a lot, and played PC Games (although, I do tend to both of those a lot anyway).

if you like reading, read a book. if you don't like rading, read a book anyway.
This is so true.

Failing that, I bet most of you have an old ps2, gamecube or such gathering dust in a corner, that could use some loving.

Yeah....go to EB games and trade it in for a system that isn't made to break. Like Wii, PS3, PSP, Xbox, Nintendo DS, N64, Playstation 1, SNES, Sega, NES....the list goes on.

Garbage product man, even if the games are fun and the multiplayer is great.
