So, I happened to see another link to the new Peter Jackson movie District 9 (which looks fantastic!), and checked to see when the release date was - August 14th, said Wikipedia, and my heart jumped for joy, and I popped onto google to look for which cinemas would be showing it - but then, to my shock and anger, it turns out Wikipedia was being Americo-centric again, and the UK release date is September 4th
So, firstly, what do people think of District 9? (for those who didn't see the trailer, its a sci-fi movie set on Earth - YouTube search for the trailer)
Secondly, why on Earth is their such a delay between the UK and US release dates? Its 2+ weeks! If the movie companies want to reduce piracy, why on Earth allow piracy to occur by seperating the dates so much; 1, 2, 3 ish days, I could understand, but 2+ weeks?
EDIT: A reminder of the trailer that was shown on a news link here on the Escapist:
