First Contact
In 1982, a large object came into our atmosphere. This was no meteor or other astrinomical object; rather, it was an advanced alien ship. The world watched in wonder as it came to settle over the South African city of Johanasburg. For three months, nothing happenned. The worlds governments debated on what was to be done, and finaly, they decided to forcibaly enter the ship and see what was inside. Hazmat teams flew up to the ship and cut into it. Instead of some kind of advanced utopia, they found over a million aliens, struck with malnourishment and disease. This race came to be know as "The Prawn".
The Prawn
The Prawn themselves are a powerful race, standing about 7 feet tall, and appear insect like in appearance. There hide comes in many different colors, and they are very powerful physically. They have many short commings however, mainly a love for cat food (for some unknow reason), and many Prawn are uneducated.
Creation of District 9
Immediatly after the ship was entered, it was decided that these alien refugees would need to be properly protected. They were moved to a small settlement beneath the ship, an area called 'District 9'. Due to tensions between Johanasburg residents and the Prawn, as well as increased politcal pressure, a wall was built around Distric 9, to segregate the aliens from the humans. Many laws were also put in place to protect the alien's rights. However, do to over policing, crime, xenophobia, and lack of sustainability, District 9 quickly became a slum.
MNU, Prawn Technology, and District 9 Crime
The private company Multinational United(MNU) was put in charge of policing and guarding District 9. MNU itself is a massive company with very deep pockets, and their own private security force. Aside from the noble goal of protecting the Prawn, MNU has another agenda: to acquire and use Prawn technology. The Prawn's technology is amazing, easyily beating human technology. Even the smallest weapons are very powerful. The problem with this is that Prawn technology is bioengineered to only work for the Prawn, and to date no human has been able to opperate it. Aside from MNU, many District 9-based gangs also have an interest in opperating alien tech, although they have had no better results than MNU. District 9 retains a very high crime rate, as gangs control most of the district.
Eviction
It has been decided however, that Distrcit 9 is not the best place for the Prawn, especially after the Wikus event. It was descided on the creation of District 10, another settlement for the Prawn a good distance away from Johannasburg. Due to Prawn rights, each alien must be served an eviction notice that they must sign, before they can be moved to D10.
This RP
Simply put, this RP will start two months after where the movie ended. MNU has decided to continue with the eviction, although now District 9 is even more unstable, since the mothership left. Your character will try to survive the task set out for him. NOTE: if you have not seen the movie, you can still join this RP, although I truely recomend seeing it, as it was a good movie.

MNU Agent An everyday human, used for administration purposes. In charge of aquiring eviction notices and signatures. Not overly useful in a fire fight, but they tend to be very open minded and reasourceful.
MNU Soldier Private security soldiers tasked with policing District 9 and protecting MNU Agents. Being well trained and well armed, MNU soldiers are the best fighting force in D9. However, they tend to be very xenophobic, and outside of a firefight they have very few practical uses.
Criminal A human in District 9 engaged in criminal acts. This could be anywhere from a petty thug to a mob boss. They are looking to use Prawn technology, and to do so they often scam the Prawn. They are a halfway between MNU soldiers and agents; They live among the Prawn and therefor arn't as extremely predjudiced, but they also lack formal combat training and use outdated weaponry.
Prawn An alien living in District 9, the Prawn are easily the bottom of the D9 hiearchy. Often discriminated against, they face police brutality by MNU and gang violence from the criminals, as well as eviction from MNU agents. Quickly earning a love for Prawn tech, he scavenged as much as he could, and by his 17 birthday he had become know as a reasonable arms dealer. He had also made it important to become well versed in english and to know his rights, although he knew the law wouldn't save him if he was caught. Many of his friends had been killed by MNU, and he knew they wouldn't flinch to kill him. When the ship left he was surprised, and he knew D9 would be chaotic. For a while
