District 9 weapons in Borderlands?

I just finished watching District 9, and all I could think of, is those would be some badass weapons to be able to use in a game, and then I thought that the only game where that might be possible, is Borderlands. In an interview, one of the game developers said, if you can think of a weapon, it's most likely in Borderlands.

Imagine wandering large open wastes with a massive air cannon that launches enemies into the distance, or a gun that shoots electricity bolts that make enemies implode... mmmmmmmmm.... implosion......

I don't even care if there aren't any pigs in Borderlands, I want to launch some.

Hahaha. We have a thread much to the same effect on the Borderlands forums. It might happen, there's a whole set of alien weapons, which we don't know anything about except Randy likes them, so maybe.

If I had to pay an extra 5 dollars to pre-order to get that gun, I would do it in a heartbeat. Best part of the movie.

But yes, I hope these weapons are in-game.

haha, I was pretty confused for a moment with the whole pig thing untill I remembered that part. It would be awesome to maybe have a type of shield with some sort of gravity/magnetic manipulation, so you would collect the bullets fired at you and could make them shoot out all around you or something.
