As great as it was, by about 2/3rds of the way through, all I could think of was how awesome that tesla gun was.
The gun that liquifies people? I wanted to see more of the bullet collecting and pig throwing magnetic gun

It was incredible, and I read, somewhere, that the actors were already preparing for a sequel.

The only thing that bothered me was the fact that the solution presented seemed way too simple and unrealistic. Also, how the hell did they manage to enslave a race of aliens with technology that, in the hands of one alien and one human/alien could bring down an entire company with?? Not to mention the aliens' super strength that was rarely used. It seemed like it had a few holes. Also, why couldn't they just beam up the control portion of the ship before, instead of waiting twenty years?

I loved the movie. An instant favorite for me, joining Donnie Darko, Pan's Labyrinth, and Cloverfield on my top... 4? I might be missing a movie somewhere in there...

This is the kind of movie I would actually be willing to buy, though. That takes a lot, considering I usually just torrent any movie I wish to see. The graphics were amazing and well realized. Not over done and very realistic, methinks.

The part that sticks out most in my head, though, is when in the Mecha suite, while Wikkus is blasting everyone to pieces, he picks up a dead pig via GRAVITY GUN and throws it at an enemy, breaking said victim through a wall in he process. Truly loved that...

I can't wait for the DVD release so I can watch it again T-T
I noticed that too.

I guess Eli Vance and Black Mesa helped the prawns build thier mechs.

I thought it was a fairly decent action flick with an extraodinarily silly plot...much like transformers. However unlike transformers it tries to take itself seriously and just comes off as pretentious.

I didn't like it. I thought the story was poorly-written (although it was original, it wasn't executed well), the main character was totally unlikeable, and the acting was incredibly mediocre. A decent sci-fi movie, no more, no less.

I think it was structured very well.

A slow, somewhat boring build-up, that introduces all the characters, back story, and then the rest of the movie is pure fun drama, action, plot developement, and of course, exploding bodies.

I reckon district 9 was one of the best alien movies of all time although i do agree oon the slow build up but it was amazing.
Then again i thought it was good because its not a standard alien story line I.E. aliens land in america are violtent start war america wins whoo ray america NO!.
but thats my perspective.
