The various weapon/armor packs: Meh. If you want some new toys to play with, they're cute I guess.
Alternate appearance pack: If you use Thane/Garrus or Jack, definitely. They all look awesome.
I've never had the spare Bioware Points to get the alternate appearance packs so I couldn't say. I also didn't go for most of the armor/weapon DLCs because most of them contained something I'd already gotten in either the preorder bonus or the Collector's Edition.
However, I did pick up the Firepower Pack (contains pistol w/ laser sight, Geth Plasma Shotgun, and a semi-auto "Mattock" assault rifle). I personally thought it was worth it. It makes the game more fun, IMO.
Kasumi: A funny character to join you with a pretty solid mission. Also, she cloaks like the Predator and stabs people from behind. That never gets old. If a new party member sounds good to you, grab it.
I've seen some people judge this DLC solely on the mission that comes with it and say "bah it's just a short mission". I find that reasoning completely flawed. It's not very long, but it's very unique and satisfying. The real great part about this DLC, though, is that you get Kasumi, and as
MisterShine said, she's funny and her special abilities are awesome. Definitely someone to take on several missions.
EDIT: Thanks for the reminder from
SniperTeam4. The new SMG is indispensable if you use SMGs (i.e. you're not a Soldier and you didn't pick Assault Rifles for your advanced weapon training).
Overlord: Decent gameplay, but the story is heartwrenching. If you have a younger sibling this is a tough mission. More for story-oriented people.
It's always fun to fight more Geth, and yeah the story is .. whoa. Funny that you mention the younger sibling aspect, because I AM the younger sibling in my family. The square root of... ehh, nevermind.
Lair of the Shadowbroker: Do you dig Liara? No? I don't care. Get it. It's fantastic. Best DLC ever made, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
Well, I don't want to fight
MisterShine, so I will not say otherwise. Haha, actually no, I agree that LotS is the very best of the lot. If you're a Liara fan, even better. If you're not, then get it for the excellent locations, battles, and the story, which I'm certain will be important in the next Mass Effect.
