First off, I would like to mention that I wrote this through my phone, so there can be typos.

I'll try to make it short. I'm having a dnd session this sunday. I have been preparing, writing the scenario, encounters and riddles. Any ideas to make my session memorable, awesome and also fun? (I hope this is in the right place, DnD is kinda gaming)

Being a DM myself, the best advice I can give you is to prepare for the unexpected. Your victims will do things you are not prepared for, and you need to be ready for this. Also, try to make a few humorous scenarios occur to keep things fairly lighthearted.

I always find my msot memorable campaigns come from the interaction between the players more than the actual DM. Mind you the DM is still a vital role but giving the players some freedom to go in the direction they want has resulted in some of my more memorable games. So my suggestion is always to figure out a basic storyline, then let the players choose how to approach it, even if they mess up your storyline and end up going in a totally different direction.

Try and keep the pace up. Make sure people know the rules so you don?t have to stop and remind them for every roll. Try and limit off the topic conversations, I know it makes you sound like a bit of a dick but it can slow down or completely stop your game from running.

For combat I?d advise small quick encounters keep them on their toes. Ambush them if they?re getting cocky or off topic (see above).

And make sure you?re having fun. If the DM isn?t having fun the players won?t be.
