NEVER EVER COMPARE US TO PARIS HILTON!lol Also this tread is to obvious. American accents don't sound weird to non-Americans...they sound weird to non-Americans and other Americans. A southern "cowboy" accent is weird. Also "gangster" accents and "gangster talk" is just annoying.Clashero said:A regular American accent is pleasant. Think, for instance, Jon Stewart. That guy has a pleasant voice. I like the sound of Southern accents, and the stereotypical New York Tough Cop accent always cracks me up.
However, accents as those exhibited in shows like The Hills, anything by Paris Hilton ("and, oh, like, oh my god, she was like, like, awesome, and i was like, oh. my. god") make me want to go out on a killing spree.

No, I love British accents! I wish I had a British accent. I want to marry a girl with a British accent!Aloran said:Yes, but there's nothing wrong with it
Question to the americans: Do British accents sound odd to you?

Not really, not for me anyway, American accents have the worst of both worlds in that they're not exotic because you hear them all the time anyway but they're not familiar either. I think the 'nasally' quality of American accents is often perceived as annoying by non-Americans.puppydogvaan said:I have a far more important question: are there any people from other countries who find our accent sexy???

Not at all, though it's funny to listen to the way you say words/names ending in 'a' (Jessicer, Obamer, phobier).Aloran said:Yes, but there's nothing wrong with it
