So... my computer when connected directly to my modem streams via Nvidia Geforce to the moonlight app on my phone pretty damn well.

I finally configured port forwarding on my router, but so far tries to stream this way results in something a bit more laggy. I'm not sure why, the other devices making use of the router (A Roku Device and another PC) were connected but not actively using it at the time.

So I'm thinking it must be the router, since it's about a decade old at this point (It should be noted my internet speed: Download is 22 Mbps, and my upload is 12.29 Mbps)

My router is a linksys Wireless-G Broadband 2.4 GHz

Is this the problem? And if so, whats the router I should be using that won't cost me an arm and a leg? (sadly not using the router isn't a perminant solution. I have to account for other people living in the home)

No, not really. If you really want to you could get a router that support 5GHz but you'll also need a device that supports 5GHz. A higher frequency (in theory) will allow better bandwidth and less interference however if you have a very thick wall you may wanna reconsider getting one :)

...it will also support 2.4GHz so no worries there.
