Do MANLY games get you pumped?

Do these games excite you? What, in your opinion, is the MANLIEST game to do so? Doesn't matter whether if it is lighthearted in its male camaradie or if it is a dark deconstruction of male tropes. Do you feel THRILLED just playing them?

Usually, you can tell a MANLY thriller, right from its cover art. Games like

Hard Corps Uprising

Golden Axe
<img src=http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/box/3/2/6/563326_45468_front.jpg>

Asura's Wrath
<img src=http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/box/9/7/4/605974_205286_front.jpg>

And God of War come to mind
<img src=http://image.gamespotcdn.net/gamespot/images/box/8/6/4/919864_61710_front.jpg>

They let you know what to expect from the game (usually). What in your opinion is the MANLIEST game to get your blood rushing?

Bayonetta. What's manlier than a sexy goth witch chick licking lollipops and kicking ass all day? A game for men by men if i ever saw one. Bayonetta is fucking hot.

Space Marine is definitely up there for actually making me feel like a Space Marine! For making me feel like a real machine of destruction who jumps into a fray of battle and starts chopping limbs and executing fools left and right!

Also Modern Warfare 2. It's probably one of few games that made me stand up, put my hands in the air and scream "FUCK YEAH I'M AWESOME!"

Gears of War is pretty manly. There's nothing quite like the feeling of ripping and tearing through 6 or 7 guys with a shotgun or sawing them in half.

DOOM is another personal favorite in that category for the same reason as Gears of War.

It's a pity you couldn't go around with a power-fist or a chain-fist... nothing manlier than slugging an ork with a one ton boxing glove!

I know some women who really enjoy those and other similar games.

I doubt the attraction is about "feeling manly" to them, and I don't feel "more of a man" playing them either so I'm not sure I buy into the premise of the thread. Perhaps it's just general quality ass kickery that appeals?

I suppose it's a great feeling to feel like an unstoppable ass-kicking juggernaut of mayhem, and could actually be the source of entertainment rather than being "manly". So many games are starting to gravitate towards realism, so the feeling of being a tank is hard to come by in modern gaming.

Yes. You're damn right with that one dude. Granted, I don't usually go for the domineering women but it's kind of hard to resist that one...

Otherwise no...I don't really get pumped playing "manly" games. Gears of War is the only thing that comes to mind when it comes to manly games but those aren't men...they're lumbering, regenerating, piles of meat that know how to grunt. Like Duke Nukem only without pretensions to being a parody.

I like juvenile manly games or ones that resemble 90's action movies. That's why I love Duke Nukem. Or powering up in Altered Beast because you get buff and naked. Or even this kind of manly game:

It isn't the fact that they are manly that gets me pumped.

It's the fact that it's all action.

You know what's manly? Welding. And mowing your lawn in nothing but your boxers. And rustling cattle.

On topic tho, few are the games that get me "pumped" in that "raaaah, I can do anything" kind of way. They do tend, if they're good, to keep my attention on the game though, and make my time enjoyable. But since my approach to gaming is a lot more analytical than emotional (for the lack of a better word), I don't recall myself going into an endorphin high over a game.

Because, nothing is manlier than a gust of wind revealing Kratos's unfortunately small knife-whip-things.

And no, not personally. I'll act the same if I'd perfectlty made an omolette and pasta in Cooking Mama to obliteraitng legions of mooks with a single chainsaw swing in Dead Rising.

I suppose God of War puts you in lots of positions to get all pumped up to do crazy things, especially the big opening boss fights near the beginning of the games.

Gears of War actually doesn't give me that "manly" high to be honest. It's easy to get killed if you are not careful, and it's built more around team work, not so much being a lone hero, So you can't say you can kill thousands of Locusts alone, because there's always someone else around to help out.

Can't say I literally get pumped up in real life however, there is a spark of something in an intense moment in a game, but it's never enough to make me do something manly in real life.

Probably Prototype. I think thats a really masculine game full of angry energy.I love the bit in a middle of a fight where you are absolutely massacreing these soldiers your character suddenly screams

"NOTHING CAN STOP ME! NOT MEN, NOT WEAPONS, NOT ARMOUR!"

Nothing beats Muscle March in terms of manliness!

Awww, I put in much google effort trying to remember the name of this game and all I had to do is scroll down a bit.

There was a fighter with in this style but I can't remember the name of that either.

... Also, I'm a little tired of looking up macho men in google image search.

Kenka Bancho. Nothing like walking around giving people the eye lazers and beating down the shabazo punks that hang out in front of the convenience store.

I do enjoy playing me a manly round of Katamari Damacy. The symbolism of the Katamari, the way it represents the man's quest to pump up his muscles for a big fight, slowly getting bigger and bigger so he may one day take down the champ (Create the moon) is trully manly.

Also...

MANLY!

What's the manliest game? THIS ONE!

That game's so manly that when I play it my manly muscles instinctively lube up and I get the intense urge to wrestle another oily man in the back of my '67 Chevy.

Are we talking about those Facebook games that advertise themselves as being for, "MEN ONLY!".

Far as I know they involve Romans or something.
