Do people really find Tosh funny?

Its an honest question. He's one of the few, possibly the only, comedian I have ever found to be completely... well, not funny. He's a troll. That's about it. I'm sick of seeing his ilk here on the internet, why would I want to see one on TV?

So my question for you, escapists, is quite simply: Who actually likes Tosh and why? What makes him funny?

Tosh to me is like Dane Cook.

Half the time he has some funny jokes...the other times he comes off as annoying.

His comedy is...I don't how to describe it. Not bad, but...you need to be a little stupid to understand them.

Like the jokes a drunk friend might say, you have to be drunk too to trly get them.

He thrives off the attention he gets from shock jokes. They're alright at best.

This thread is going to attract a lot of posts along the lines of, "It's called an opinion, buddy."

OT:I don't think he's funny. But then again I've only seen little bits and pieces of a couple episodes. But what I have seen didn't amuse me.

He's alright, lol who said Troll's weren't funny? I just looked him up a little after seeing this thread and some of his stuff is funny, some of it isn't. I'd give him a 6/10 after 10 minutes.

I realize I'll get a lot of "its an opinion" posts. What I'm hoping for is why they formed that opinion. What makes him funny, in other words. When I see him, all I see is some troll who got lucky. I want to at least understand why somebody else may like his material.

Maybe Dane Cook mashed up with a lightweight Jim Gaffigan?

I dunno, I like him. I've seen him live, and while I don't remember most of his material (since no online videos exist that captured that full show, sadly), I know one of his more darker shock jokes made me laugh uncontrollably. It's probably not safe to post here, but it dealt with him replacing someone's mace with silly string. And then lolz ensued.

no, just no. it's not funny. I think it's funny how it seems that no one here is actually enjoying anything he does. That means this thread made me laugh more than he did

I like his show. Because, I don't really understand why people post stuff to youtube in the first place. I find the whole "Look at Me! Look at me!" trend going right now ludicrous so anyone that pokes fun of it is ok in my book.

I like him, watch his show every week.

It's not just that the jokes are "shock" jokes, but more of the fact that you just have no way to anticipate what the punchline is, because it's so far away from what the average person would think.

I like Tosh. He's like the physical embodiment of Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. Tosh.0 is...okay. I prefer his stand-up routine more, but the show is kinda modeled after his routine so that's why I watch it occasionally.

I can see why people don't like him but I think he's hilarious.

You should watch his stand up. I'm quite the fan of his style. How he continues on and on with a joke until only a few people are laughing. Either because they've never had the experience he's talking about or they're ashamed to laugh at a shock joke. I also like when he starts saying something that sounds real bad but then finishes it and it turns out to be completely acceptable.

He's meant to be unlikeable. It's sort of his thing.

Tosh.0 is fun too. I get a couple laughs out of it but I don't catch every episode that airs.

I find the show funny. I enjoy the viral videos that he finds, they're usually pretty funny even though I may have seen them. Most of the snide comments aren't all that great but the idea of having web redemptions is pretty funny, and every now and then he has a good line. Not the greatest show, but it entertains me.
