I boycott anything that is labeled "organic". The foods are more unsafe than normal foods and need to be transported farther (i.e. more gas needs to be spent transporting them). I also boycott corn based ethanol. It really is just a waste of corn.

Yeah, go ahead and send me a message about it
Heh, you want it with the debate-style cited evidence, or just summarized?

There's no point in boycotting things, except to make a personal statement. Which is why I never do. Really, one person can't make a massive difference like that to a large company, so not much point trying, right?
Well not really with that attitude. If lots of just one person decide to makke a little statement or just boycott because they don't argee then that become lots of peopel which makes a difference.

No, I use the advanced concept of "Not buying shit I don't like".

e.g., MW2
I hope that's a joke.

OT: I boycotted MW2 for what they did to the PC version. I have never boycotted anything before and unless they put in what was removed from that game in another CoD I won't be buying the next one. Even then I am going to wait to see what it is like before buying it.

Well, I don't think there's a country left in the Middle East I'll willingly buy produce from by now.

But on a day to day basis it's mostly a few newspapers I won't read cuz all they do nowadays are you-journalism ("How YOU can avoid CANCER!", "Are YOUR SEX LIFE good enough?" etc).
Or they flat out make up their own "news" by stalking celebrities and having headers like "Celebs REFUSE to talk to press about MARRIAGE TROUBLE!".

Make it summarized. If I want sources for anything I will ask.

I didn't so much boycott as generally avoid Primark (seeing as I had nor have any intention of buying anything in that jumble sale) after I learned that they use impoverished children as the bulk of their labour, paying them pennies.

So yeah, Primark, I guess...

I think most of you are confusing "boycott" with "I don't use it because I don't like it". Not eating a certain fast food because you don't like the way it tastes isn't a boycott. Neither is avoiding a game you don't enjoy playing, a drink you don't like to drink, or a clothesline you don't wear because it makes your butt look big.

THIS is why I don't boycott. People don't even understand its meaning anymore. It just becomes something cool to say to your friends because the word boycott sounds rebellious. IMHO, if you were REALLY boycotting something, you would try to spread knowledge about your cause. A boycott isn't effective if only 20 people do it. Corporations will only laugh at you.

That being said, I don't boycott anything. I chose not to buy organic because I believe the true purpose of "organic" methods has become lost amongst the fad. But I wouldn't call it anything close to a boycott...my friends still buy it, and I don't really care. I also don't buy Science Diet, Iams, or Eukaneuba dog food because there is MUCH cheaper and healthier food for your pets...especially when it comes to Science Diet, which basically has a monopoly on veterinarians. But again, not a boycott. Just a personal choice.

/end rant

After the whole "Infinity Ward" incident, I either won't buy an activison product, or get it pre-owned. So they don't get any of my money.

Is it bad that this thread has made me want a McDonald's?

I don't boycott, I see no point in restricting myself from certain products/services, and aren't deterred by the practices of any companies.

I'm boycotting Let Me In.
I saw the advert and went to my friends "ive seen this its called let the right one in, brilliant movie, rather obscure". The ad completely put me off. They ruined it. They cant capture the grim down to earth cold feeling of let the right one in. Its soo bleak and empty. The atmosphere died with the change in language and location.

I worked for a restaurant that was part of small chain. Pretty much all the towns/city around here have the restaurant. After a large feud that pretty much broke up the chain, I've vowed never to eat/work at the one in the city because of it.

Other than that... the only way Activision will get my money is through blizzard. Curse you WoW/SC2 for lining their pockets with my money!

OP: I'm boycotting games over $60..... I don't but them until they get cheaper.

I boycott Gamestop, but that's less of a moral thing and more of a financial thing. Gamestop rips you off.

I boycott Facebook.

If anyone who knows me wants to get in touch with me, they have my cellphone number and email adress and hey have rpobably beena dded to my list of contacts on msn messenger. If someone who doesn' know me wish to get in touch with me, I say: Fuck off!

Also, I boycott World of Warcraft. I tried it out and got bored after a mere fifteen minutes of playing. There are a lot beter MMORPG's out there, and some of them can even be played for free. Thus I find no reason for anyone to pay an evil corporate giant like Blizzard for their sub-standard MMO.
