So having just moved into my own proper place and have been getting used to cooking my own meals, for me and my friend who I live with.
So I'm just curious to know.

How many Escapees do their own cooking and is there anything you enjoy making?

Personally I like cooking Thai Green Curries, they're pretty fun to make.

I cook professionally, and occasionally at home for myself. For myself, sandwiches and Asian chicken and edamame salad with a balsamic-soy-ginger glaze dressing.

I can cook a roast chicken dinner (with all the potatoes and veg and that), a chilli con carne, spaghetti bolognese... quite a few things. I'm 20.

How do I cook? Terribly. All my food ends up looking like the terminator after it had been crushed to death at the end of the movie.

BUT I'm going to marry a chef... so any... budding chefs..? *cough*

Yes I do, it's a rule in our household that when you turn 16 you have to cook once a week. I'm 18 now, and my brother just turned 16 a month ago. As a result, my mum only has to cook diner once a week. I don't mind, I actually like it. I hope that, some day, I can spend more time learning to cook more varied recipe's, maybe even master a bit of italian cuisine, just be a better cook. I yet have to grow the balls to actually try stuff out though, but I won't bother too much for that yet because if I have to cook at home, I have to cook for a family of 5 people.

That said, I really want to learn how to cook better, since I think I wouldn't mind becoming a 'houseband' later. Screw having a carreer, I'll manage the household.

Yup, and I cook just about anything. It's more fun to cook for others though. Just cooking for myself doesn't motivate me to do anything complicated.

Save money, eat healthier, why wouldn't you cook?

P.S. I don't care if women can cook, only one half of a couple needs to know how to cook and since I do...

I try to cook, but something always ends up burning.
I like fire too much.

I "cook". Most of the time I make whatever takes less than 10 mins with the minimal amount of effort, or order deliverys.

Done some epic fry ups, but thats about it. Lots of kitchen experiments, wouldn't class that as cooking however.

I love to cook. And people have been telling me to become a chef and I always refuse.
The reason confuses folks. To me, food is love. In cooking for friends and family its a gesture showing how much I care about them, by sharing my enjoyment. And seeing them enjoy it is an even better feeling.
