Now, i'm sure it's fun to jump into a game for the first time and immediately start owning the scrubs because you're a talented mofo and this crap comes naturally to you. But I don't give a fuck!
So who enjoys learning a game, y'know climbing out of that well of ignorance/lack of skill and finally, after months of practise can play on a decent skill level now.
The most obvious example would learning something like a MOBA or a fighting game. I (like to think) i'm decent at LoL finally and can now tell which character in the mess of particle effects is mine in a teamfight (shocking I know.)
It's a lot more satisfying when you can see your progress up the ladder of terribleness up to a level that doesn't feel like you're banging your head against a wall.
You have to learn what other people can do as well. Finding out that character X had a stun or trying to tower dive a Vladimir was all part of the learning process
It's why I like buying random new Champions. Since I can't seem to transition across skills from one person to another person with similar mechanics. i'm practically starting from scratch every single time.
Somehow, i'm not sure when, I randomly got good at playing Riven. Riven! I never do well with her! This only supports my theory that buying skins improves your skill at that Champion by 10/15 or maybe even 20 percent! GET DUNKED ENEMY TEAM!
I can even play Nocturne to a decent calibre now. I'm not broadcasting my retardation to everyone in the game by failing the easiest Paranoia ever. Nothing is funnier than seeing the screen fade out to almost nothing and hearing the trademark "Darrrrrknessss" then the kill comes up for one dead Nocturne. Lulz
I would like to say i've improved in fighting games but lol jk still can't block low or use that damn shoryuken motion 90% of the time :/
All the swaggy Phoenix Wright combos depress me...
