I felt like cheating in Alpha protocol with the pistol and 1 shotting bosses with a chainshot in the head from miles away.

A dual wielding dagger rogue in DA2 felt like cheating as well compared to my previous playthrough as a mage. All the hard hitting mobs became a joke because I would 2-3 shot them and turn the rest of the battlefield into a cluster of weak mobs.

I believe this thread will come down between two opposing sides: Those who used inisible armor in oblivion, and those who didn't.
Or in my case, those who edited in a 100% constant effect chameleon amulet in Morrowind.

For example i kinda feel bad about using invisibility potions to get through difficult dark brotherhood/thieves guild missions on oblivion.
Same here. Potions/alchemy seems like cheating indeed. So do medpacks, health bars and such... :|

Scroll down and look at my sniper stats.

I still don't know what the Hell happened that night, but I'm a terrible FPS player with a terrible computer and had a terrible internet connection at the school where I did that.
Wait wait wait. You got 25 kills...in under 5 minutes! That's a kill every (consults calculator) 11ish seconds. WHAT. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

Well there was the time that the second boss in DXHR glitched out and just stood there not doing anything. I would've felt bad except that fight was a massive pain so I took it as a sign that god had shown me mercy and I got on with the good bits. In fallout new vegas I always stack luck so that when I get to vegas I can just win all the money from the casinos. It's hilarious when you get kicked out but it also kinda breaks the game cos all of a sudden you can pretty much afford anything. When I used to play Mario Party 1 regularly (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) I would wait until an enemy player was about to get a star, turn them into a human controlled player and make them not get it. I never really considered it to be cheating because everyone knows that the game favors the AI so that was my way of getting back at them. That'll teach them to cheat.

Hmm...
I can beat Resident Evil 1,2 and 3 with my eyes closed. Especially RE2, I must have beaten it at least 30 times (PS1/Saturn/N64 era was my "hardcore gaming" period), my record is 1 hour 26 minutes :) When I play these games, it almost feels like cheating since they offer absolutely no challenge for me.

full sneak and 98% chameleon while maxing out archery? I didn't feel guilty at all :D

I also play some combat arms, and even I sometimes can't believe I don't cham XD
98% chameleon? Naga please. I had 115% chameleon without pots or spells and it was hilarious.

OP: The first time I played through starcraft, I used cheats. I have been playing through it again the last 2 weeks with only black sheep wall (toggle it on then turn it off just so I don't have to go stumbling in the darkness) and beating it legitimately. But that isn't what you're talking about so nvm.
In MW2, the FAMAS is apparently haxorz, and x2 models are still hax despite the nerf. I use em cuz I like em, not cuz they are OP. So long as people quickscope me and use noob tubes with OMA and danger close, I don't care if they complain.

Theres invisible armor? oh dear god..
Hahaaaa. Ya if you enchanted your armor with chameleon with grand souls, you could get 100% Chameleon. 100% permanent undetectable invisibility. You could attack people and nobody could see you do it, steal things in plain sight. It sort of felt like cheating but at the same time it was fairly hard to do. You needed 5 grand soul gems with grand souls in them, then the actual spell which was a bloody high level. By that stage you were godly anyway.

I did kinda feel like I cheated in the original Fallout. I purposefully didn't put any points into small guns and hoarded everything I possibly could until I could buy the skill books. I spent a lot of time waiting for those to recharge, but I eventually maxed out my skill (well, I maxed it out as far as you can with the books) then spent most of my points there from then on. I had 95% accuracy when shooting anyone anywhere from any distance. Plus I had 9 luck and the sniper perk. If I remember correctly, I had enough AP to make two shots which meant two dead super mutants every round. I also min/maxed with all of the stat changes you can get throughout the game, including not taking very much strength at the beginning to fully utilize the bonus from the power armor.

It WAS really difficult in the early game with no strength and no weapon skills, but by the end of the game I was basically a god.

Using electrical mods on weapons in Dead Island made the game a cake walk. Especially when you were one shotting thugs, buthers and those vomiting fucks.

I only maxed out one character in the Pokemon games to the point of where it was always 10 levels ahead of everyone else.

Worked till I got to the final Four. Haven't yet beat a Pokemon game.

Enchant a sword with Drain 100 life for 1 second in Oblivion, and you're pretty much set for the first 10 levels.

Usually, I don't use that sword, but I will whip it out sometimes.
So, no.
Cheap tactics are not cheating.

Multyplayer on the other hand. That's a whole different story.

I feel like I'm cheating when I run past enemies in Dark Souls to get to a boss. I get tired of killing them.

Dead Space - a fully upgraded ripper.

The thing slices up necromorphs like they're made of tissue paper, and I can usually get two or three of them with a single blade. It uses so little ammo, and you can get so much ammo from dead necromorphs, I often ended up selling stack after stack of spare ammunition.

Never mind that the secondary fire makes it a viable weapon at any range - though at least it costs some statistically significant ammo to use then.

It's stupidly overpowered, but I imagine that kind of thing comes in handy when playing on extremely high difficulty. It's technically not cheating, but it sure feels like it!

No because my single player campaigns can be completed how the hell i like. As a rule i play vanilla a few times, then mods, then a fuckabout with cheats.
