Do you ever talk to yourself?

Everyone talks to themselves, that's called "thinking." All it takes is a lack of inhibition to do that verbally.

But I've never talked to myself at a normal volume, at most I mutter.

I talk to myself all the time. I also talk to inanimate objects especially my TV and PC though that is often more yelling and cursing at how stupid the people on TV are or why my PC won't do what I tell it to.

"- I sat down and looked for my keys which where nowhere to be found..."

Sure, always have. Even more since I moved out and live alone.
I know that feeling. It's kind of comforting just to hear something, since I'm isolated quite a bit now. I don't talk out complex problems aloud though, it's mostly if I hear a particularly stupid line from Maury or something in the background, so I'll add an "and junk" to the end of it for credibility.

I do it a lot, but not when other people are around, that's just weird. If I'm board and alone though, I will talk to myself, I've even told myself to shut up quite a few times. But it's not like I'm having a conversation with myself, I'm just thinking out loud.

Yes, all the time, sometimes things make more sense when discussed out loud, and more often than not, I have no-one else to discuss them with.

Crazy? Yes. Helpful? You bet.

I'm another member of the "Thinking Aloud" club, I even got the shirt. No full-on conversations though, just have nobody around, so I start speaking my thoughts so I can practice my speaking, don't wanna have my voice box atrophy or anything.

I talk to myself. I did it a lot more as a child though. I'm an only child, so I figure I did it to keep myself amused

Well, I say plans out liud, just to get them straight in my head.
"Okay, so mines here, then I jump out of this window..."
And of course:
"Oh fuck!"
"Bollocks!"
"Shit!"

All the time. I'll reference myself as "we". Like "We should get some food"
I grinned ear to ear when I read that ;D

and I can't say I do..but I might occasionally whisper stuff aloud if I make a mistake =/

Constantly, mainly for 3 reasons:

- To practice my English verbal skills. I even think in English just for practice. Dutch a shit language anyway.
- Because I'm my best conversationalist. Everyone else around here is just a bore to talk to.
- Because I like to vocalise my thoughts.

As wise old Al Swearengen says:
"Habitual fuckin? vocalizing of thoughts best kept to yourself. I will confide further. Lately... I talk to this package: the severed rotting head I paid bounty on last year of that murdered fuckin? Indian."
And as I lack a rotting Indian's head, one of my cats will do.

More thinking out loud. Or talking with characters who aren't really there. It incredibly handy when trying to sort out problems and, of course, it fills the silence.

No, but I do talk aloud.

Talking to yourself would involve having a conversation as though you are two people speaking to one another.

I only do that when alone.
