I watch him for the humor of the reviews. He exagerates games' flaws and admits it. In an interview he said that his "Zero Punctuation Mask" stays at home. His actual opinion is very different

Not really. First of all, part of his job is to trash games, so yah. also, his trashes are usualy based on getting a small insignificant bad part, and mentioning only that, whereas I know the good parts, so I'm fine with it

Nope. I mostly watch him to see what kinda shit hes gonna say. He's pretty funny. I couldn't care less if he hates a game I enjoy.

No, but he's mentioned in a older review about a time where you convince yourself you're having more fun than you actually are, and I think that's happened before.

I enjoy all of what he has to say, I love Bulletstorm, Splinter Cell Conviction, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and Borderlands, and I also love the Zero Punctuation episodes where he hates on them. He brings up some good points, but I still love the games.

I love Yahtzee. He is the reason I first came here, and really the reason I keep coming back. But he's not infallible, and smart and witty as he is, he doesn't always understand or "get" the reasons for everything in every game he plays.

This means on rare, rare occasions, I spot where he is being what he might call a twit.

But I never get upset about it, really. They're just games and he's really just another critic, and it's just not the end of the world.

Plus, the Silent Hill games are without doubt my favorites, and though I don't subscribe to the fanboi copout that #2 is the greatest simply by virtue of everybody else forcing you to think so (I do love it, but #1 is the scariest and #3 has the best protagonist), I still am happy that one of my very favorite games is in his top three favorites. That allows me to forgive much.

No, but that's mostly because it's not yahtzee's job to give us a proper review of a certain game, his job is to make us laugh. Yahtzee even admits this in his "Batman Arkham Asylum" review were he starts off praising the game but then says that you don't watch the show for an in-depth review and instead you watch for your own entertainment. So basically I don't take yahtzee seriously since probably doesn't take himself seriously either.

I dont mind his opinion, its how he phrases it sometimes that annoys me. Example, his Killzone 3 review. He says its just made to make America look good and that we will be slaves to china soon, but he left out the fact that killzone 3 is made by guirrila games which is based in Amsterdam. He said the single player sucks shit, which in my opinion THE STORY does, but the gameplay doesnt. He also left out how fun the multiplayer is which annoys me.

Or his Demons Souls review, he left out the multiplayer and trashed the game claiming its to hard, but leaves out the fact that Demons Souls is a game of trial and error. Its not so much the rating or opinion he has on it, but how he only plays for a bit, claims it either rules or sucks, and derives himself of a great experiance.

I respect him alot but some of his reviews just make me facepalm sometimes.

I get upset a bit to be honest if he says things that are simply false about a game sometimes. Also, when he criticizes something that says more about his own lack of understanding than the actual game itself, I notice another comedy reviewer doing the same thing in one review I saw by another though. I wonder if they are pandering to their audience. Or maybe he is making fun of how dumb he considers some of the people who may plan on playing or playing the game. But Yahtzee can criticize the hell out of a game I like, Alpha Protocol for instance, and not make shit up and then I'm not upset at all. Actually, his Alpha Protocol review seemed much better than many of the more "serious" reviews when it came to criticizing the game strangely enough.

It can bother me a bit I guess, but I know it's made for entertainments sake - for example, I LOVED Red Dead Redemption, and he criticized a lot - however it was mainly about things like John walking into doors, so I could tell he didn't hate it too much. I've never had him actually hate on a game I love just because I don't love bad games.

Not at all. it is his opinion, and his alone. I just go and watch his reviews, accept his opinions, and laugh all the while, without letting it color my own views.

Nope, normally he points out flaws that I never even noticed, but if I truly enjoy a game I accept it flaws included, I'm looking at you Oblivion, you glitchy thing you (In some cases that made me love the game more :D )

No, although honestly, The games I have played and liked that he has reviewed he has always said are at least "decent" so that's all good XD And it is his review, and I appreciate the humour.

No. Why would it? He has his own tastes, and I have mine. Besides, many of the problems he brings up in games I notice and have to admit aren't great- but most just aren't game breaking.

Besides, his criticism does a lot of good towards exploring what makes games work or fail.

Yahtzee hates JRPGs.

I love JRPGs.

You get used to the trashing. And during the trashing he does bring up valid points. FFXIII was kind of linear, but a little bit in it opens up and lets you run around. And if you're not dedicated enough to go through every linear bit to finally get to an open place where you can do what you want, DON'T PLAY A JRPG.
