I'm more of a pretentious twat online. Here I am me generally though. I've actually pretended to be different people elswhere a couple of times just to see if it works (and once because I had a female avatar so everyone assumed I was a girl, I didn't have the heart to tell them I was a guy). Not in any malicious or creepy way, just out of interest and developing a realistic and believable character.

...so, there's no way of knowing I'm actually me here! MWAHAHAHAHA! Well, you'll just have to trust me, sat in here in the Playboy mansion, with my sixpack and wearing hoverboots.

Not a persona really, I just act completely different.
I'm actually a lot shier on the internet than in real life, which is a little weird.

On the internet I attempt to be as well mannered and proper as possible, whereas offline I tend to hate most people and not care for what they have to say further than ending conversation.

I'm trying to become my internet persona offline.

Me too xD
Sometimes it's a bit scary, suddenly realizing I'm becoming Toasty. But maybe it's not such a bad thing.

My online persona is just a ridiculously exaggerated version of my normal self.

You know, basically how I would act, if say, all of my thoughts and opinions were 100% anonymous. =o

Yeah, a lot of people are like that. It's a bit like the Internet Dickwad Theory, only with internet personas.

Also, w00t! It was a hot topic! :D

I'm a lot more talkative online. It's kinda sad that I can barely hold a conversation in the real world, but talking to the same person online we can chat for hours...

Not consciously... but I'm sure most people are the same. Especially true as you get older as 'changing personalities' depending on the social situation becomes more of a subconscious thing as well. (Mind you, this is only from personal experience and I could be completely wrong)

I used to when I first discovered message boards about a decade ago and would typically frequent WWF sites. For a time I would impersonate William Regal. God, I was such a loser.

I;m nicer online than I am in real life. I also complain less here. Mostly so that I don't get banned. Other than that, I'm pretty much the same.

I think he's Shodan, actually. Never played the game, but I have a strong intuition on this one.
He could also be Anonymous. *shudder*

I had a separate persona whilst online. J03bot used to be a very different person to Joe.
The only problem was that Joe was boring and had no friends (well, not many). So now I'm J03bot both on- and off-line. Life is more interesting now!
