What's your favourite musical(s)? It can be Broadway, West End, Movie or Independent.
Mine would be: Les Miserables; and Lord of the Rings the Musical(because i'm a LOTR junkie).
Oh and please don't call this gay. I really do not see what is so gay about musicals anyway.
EDIT- Forgot The Producers. "Adolf Elizabeth Hitler" F***ing hilarious

Well I saw singing in the rain live, and that was pretty darn good.

Movie-wise, though, I'd say either Sound of Music (Classic), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, or The Court Jester (With Danny Kaye!). Just awesome.

Les Miserables and Little Shop of Horrors were my favorite musicals (the stage version of the former and the movie version of the latter).

My school took our year to London for a week, that included going to see Wicked (awful in my opinion), Blood Brothers (amazing), and Hairspray (pretty awful, although a few laughs (more at the people then with them)). I have also seen Lion King and LOTR Musical when I have been in London, both were OK.

Phantom of the Opera, I love that one - I've seen it in a theater and listen to it on a dvd once in a while...
That's it, down to the last ellipsis...I've seen it live twice, once in the cinema, and more than a dozen times at home. I have a problem really like that story.

Anything from Andrew Lloyd Webber, I'm a self confessed 'The Lord' fanboy. Haven't seen most of his stuff live, sadly, but the music? Epic win. And I saw the touring version of Joseph a couple of years ago, and I so desperately want to see Cats when it's next performed in the UK (since sadly the West End version ended a few years ago after a revival in 2004), and Memory is the best piece of music from a musical I've ever heard. Susan Boyle definitely did it justice :D

Haven't seen anything from Stephen Sondheim, sadly, but I'd love to see Sweeney Todd, the film was great (and I was pleasantly surprised to see Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman all have amazing singing voices). In general, I'm a musicals fanboy, though I can't sing myself :s

Les Miserables is pretty damn high on my list too, as is the Beggar's Opera (missed my chance to see it back at my old school when it was performed...). I'd also love to see the Lion King, and I saw We Will Rock You in the West End a few years ago. That show was bloody amazing and my brother was in a performance at his school a few weeks ago, sadly I didn't get to see it since I'm at university, but it was apparently really good, he was a minor role as 'Jackson 5' of the Bohemians. His best friend, one of my friends too, apparently stole the show as Pop, but then again the guy is a natural born rocker...

It really should. There are some catchy tunes in the movie.
Personally though I'm going to have to go with Evil Dead the musical.

The only thing I've seen live on stage was Starlight Express, and only because my friend's parents had tickets for the family but his dad broke his leg the day before so I went in his place. It was good, but not the sort of thing I'd ever really bother to go and see by myself.

In movie form, musicals are good Saturday morning watching. By which I mean 'hangover TV'. I learned this while living at home with my mum who watches almost nothing else. They don't require any mental effort, as long as you can identify the most dashing guy and the prettiest girl, and remember that it's about them falling in love and singing about it a lot. Because it always is. Just sit, watch, be entertained. Preferably with a cup of tea in your hand. They're ace.

"Joe's Appartment" was good. Also, "Repo: The Genetic Opera" was kind of fun.

Never seen any live musicals. You'd have to have a loaded shotgun to my temple before that would happen. I have seen Grease an ungodly amount of times though, through no volition of my own. Curse you music class...
