Basically it is improved oblivion with guns and vats but that's what I liked about it. They fixed most of oblivion's problems and added bullets and nuclear explosions. What more could you want.

The only thing I really dislike is the computer hacking. That is a pain in the ass

I really liked it (even the ending as I had done pretty much everything there is to do with my good karma character) I also reject the assertion that it is oblivion with guns. The AI in fallout is far more intelligent, I found less bugs than oblivion and having a permanent effect on places was fun (e.g megaton, republic of dave, tenpenny tower etc).

Plus I was disappointed with V.A.T.S. It may get better but right now the hit % is way to low to even bother using it.
By the end of the game my Vats for short to middle-long distance was around the mid eighties to mid ninties mark.

I actualy liked computer hacking it was fun at least until my science skill was stupidly high and then it was just guess three random ones (there were normally only a few there with high science skill) and if they are wrong exit the terminal and retry. Also you know that if you get it wrong you can leave the terminal and reenter it and you're tries will be restored and a different puzzle will be there right?

I liked it more than Oblivion, but as a shooter I thought it was kind of sub par. I guess it's not all about the shooting though, but sooner or later you're gonna need a good boomstick.
I only rented it though. Probably not enough time to really get into it, but I wasn't that impressed in the time I had.
Might buy it when the price goes down.
Also, how many shots to the head does it take to kill someone? Even with a pistol? Not an entire clip, that much I know.

I enjoyed it. Best RPG I played in '08, (not saying much since the only other one I played was Mass Effect, woof.) Although I'm done with it now, it's a game I feel like in a year I'll have a strong desire to play again, just because it's open and fun.

I like how it specifically kicked you in the balls if you were a good guy. It makes the game a lot harder and I thought the overall message of that was hilarious.

I love the game and although it doesn't have quite the replay value of TES I still found it a good game.

BTW why are all these threads about Fallout coming out like a month or two after the release date?

I don't know but think it is because people now have had a chance to play the game for some time and perhaps even completed it.

I guess but it seems specifically late December the forums got flooded with Fallout 3 threads and it seemed kind of random. But your explanation makes sense.

EDIT: And um.. why isn't this a poll?

Some stuff about it is questionable (like third person mode.. walking diagonally.. etc.) But I guess we can't have perfection. Other than that, it's a good game.

It wasn't too bad, I didn't have too much time with it, but I couldn't get into it. The animation outside of enemies in combat was just bad.

Seems OK I suppose. I guess I was hoping for a bit longer range though.

Not as world-changing as it was hiped out to be and a few odds and ends that didn't rub me the right way, but all in all it was a decent game. Worth the buy.

Hmm? What are you refering to here? I only had the chance to play one character through ot the end before the rental shop wanted it back and played a Good karma Female and wanna know what you mean so I can look out for it when I get the money to buy the game.
