Do you look older or younger than you are?

How old do you think you look compared to your real age? Do you get carded every time you go to the bottle shop or have you been buying without showing ID for ages even though you're only sixteen? Can you get away with paying cheap fares because the bus drivers think you're a student? Or a teacher? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

I'm almost 19, most common guess is 14-16. Nobody takes a word I say seriously but I can totally do that cheap student fares thing.

I have been told older. A couple of years ago people said I looked about 21, which I personally didn't believe but I got told that quite a few times.

Apparently younger.
I get ID'd playing the lottery.
You only need to be 16 to play the lottery.
I'm 22.

I don't mind it really. It's kind of funny to me now. If I get an 18+ game or film, I see the look in the cashiers eyes and reach for my ID before they even say it.

I look younger.
I am 21 but when buying alkohol or going to a club I always take my ID out beforehand.
Usually if I don't they always ask, so it saves time and I don't really mind.

I look way older than I am, apparently. I'm only sixteen, and yet I have the propensity to look like a Civil War reenactor.

Younger except when I try and go for the cheap under 16 ticket on the bus then I look too old. I got ID when trying to buy Mass Effect which is a twelve, that was last year. It's my height I'm a bit small for my age, I don't no my exact height.

About 2-4 years older, which for a youngun like me is quite much. I had to show proof that I was under 15 when I went to see Dark Knight Rises so I could get a fiver off my ticket. I also have to shave, and have a voice much deeper than even some adult males I know. I'm also 6 foot tall, which adds to it I guess.

People use to tell me I look younger then my age. Then I started growing a beard to try to look somewhat older at the very least.

I think I look about my age. I always get ID'd when I'm buying cigarettes or alcohol though and every now and again for pubs so maybe I do look a bit younger.
I'm 21, by the way.

I'm 32 and still get carded occasionally, not as much as when I was in my 20's but it does still happen. People usually say I look early 20's.
And its not as if I never go outside in the sun, I worked as a postie for 8 years in all weathers so I've had my fair share of sun, rain, snow, hail, meteorites and nuclear fallout scarring my flesh.

The OP looks freaking adorable. She made me squee like an adolesent female.

OT: I still get ID buying cigars. But I think that's a common practice until people get in their late 20's and their age is pretty obvious.

I am cursed/blessed by looking younger then i do. Im 26 and just the other week i was asked for ID whilst buying cigarettes with the shop keeper asking if i wasnt too young for that.
Has to be something to do with my face, cos size wise i dont see how its possible to think im a minor.

Ive been jockingly told in the past that im just one of those blokes who ages/matures slower then others (not something id entirely disagree with), so hopefully this will work out for me eventually, when im 40 and still looking in my early 30s.

For a while as I got older I seemeed to start looking younger. At 16 I could wander into most bottle-shops and cinemas and not get ID'd, at 18-19 I was ID'd all the time. If it wasn't for the fact it was so many different places I would of said it was just a dodgy cashier.

After I got my Harley and started rocking the angry scary biker look most people seem to guess I'm 22-23. So just a couple years older than I am.

I'm 19 and when I have a full beard I look able 23. I've got a goatee at the moment so I look about 21. It's pretty conveniant because I never get ID'd

I'm 20 now and I've been told I look 23 by a few people for a few years now from about 17-18. Some reason always 23. I believe it's the way I dress and act. Many people comment on how "Mature for my age."

Usually older, though a few people have thought I was younger than I am (I'm 20, nearly 21 and think I look 24-25). I've been buying alcohol since 17[footnote]I mean, with friends of legal age doing the actual buying and me just accompanying.[/footnote] and only got asked for ID once and that was after I was already legal age.
However, I think the bottle shops in my area are shocking when it comes to checking for ID. My sister, who looks 16 (actually 18), almost never gets asked for ID from the two bottle shops we have nearby. When they do ask for ID, it's after they've taken the cash and nearly finished the transaction.
