So apparently I'm one of the few people I know in person that will adventurously modify hardware. What consumer electronics (generally game consoles, but anything counts) have you modified, and what did you do to them?
To start:
XBOX w/2 HDD mod with hard switch, SID 4 softmod installer running XBMC and UnleashX
PS2 with PS2 mem card softmod, using Gran Turismo as trigger disc
PSP running 3.2 custom firmware (old, I know), done through Pandora's Battery
Wii running Homebrew Channel and assorted homebrew, hacked through Twilight disc
Sandisk e280 running Rockbox firmware
WRT54g v5 router, running DD-WRT
Panasonic 130W 5.1 surround receiver, hacked to keep fan always on
Speedstream DSL modem, hacked with a fan on a power switch and a heatsink to keep it from overheating and locking up
Generic 5+, 12+- VDC power supply with computer molex connectors on for powering random electronics
