Do you organize your gaming?

I was wondering how people organize their gaming or not. What I mean is things like beating a game before moving on the next one, or simply playing whatever you feel like at the time. I find if I don't organize my gaming well I will end up having so many games started that I get sidetracked. If I do however have a few games going at a time I try to keep the genres seperate. What do you do in regards to this?

I generally will play a game from start to finish before moving on, unless I get bored and stop, in which case if I start again it'll probably be much later, and from the begining again.

Seperating the genres? I often find if I've finished a game I liked, I might want to play a similarish game, though this often takes liberties with the meaning of "similar", because a good game will be individual in a number of ways, as a rule.

I've just been playing TF2 and Street Fighter recently, so I just play what I feel like since there's no story to lose track of.

Although with Alice: Madness Returns, I just added that into the list of games I play whenever. Tried to limit myself so I didn't finish it too quick. Didn't really work.
I'm not really sure if it's because it's too short or I just lost track of time a lot.

I have entirely too much ADD to let my play be dictated in such way.

Like right now I have a backlog of games, But last night I spent a few hours working on fat princess to blow off some steam from forcing my way through the end of the witcher, as I had my laptop configuring my caanoo to set up Z.ombies O.n M.y G.rass(Z.O.M.G) and during game breaks from the witcher doing research on getting my photorealism texturemod for Minecraft to work in conjunction with patch 1.7.

So.. focusing and taking games one at a time is a damn near alien concept to me.

More power to you if you can pull it off.

Edit: And just to illustrate my point, this thread now has me considering what I should do today... Play with the Kinect, Or perhaps try to do a speed play on Infamous, or maybe try putting some more work toward 100% on demons souls. While I postulate on what I will do with my next RPGmaker project.

Damn you for making my mind wander.

I don't play another game until the one I am currently playing is complete, unless it is a game that I have already played, then I am a bit more flexible. If it is a game that I am finding a real chore to play and complete, then I will play it along with my brother, my dad or a friend to try and complete it, and have fun in the process. Some of my dad's observations really make me laugh :D

I do. I tend to stick to two games (pick up and play, creative, and online games not standing,) one PS3 and one PC. If I dislike a game, or it bores me, I move on. I may force myself to play it for a bit, then move on. I may be too stuck on this though. I'm playing through ME2 for the second time in a row (lost save files hours before ending, 27 hours in. A soul sucking experience if I've ever had one.) but want to start Saint's Row 2, but won't because I'm playing Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth on my PC. :|

I think as a kid I used to be better, but these days I have to organise it because it bothers me if my gaming is "inefficient".

I have a hand-written list of games (new games and those I want to re-play) on my computer desk at all times in a rough order. I don't have to play them in this order, but I have to finish a game before I can start a new one. It's always fun crossing a game off the list. There are about 30 games on the list presently.

I usually have the following going at once:

1 console game (PS3)
1 PC game
1 "nighttime" game (e.g. a survival horror game)

So at the moment I'm playing:
- L.A. Noire
- Mass Effect 2
- Aliens Vs Predator 2 (2001)

Sports games are freebies.

Generally, i tend to organise by playing one game through and finishing it before moving on, unless i want to get all the trophy's/achievements, where i'll move on to a new game, but come back to get the aforementioned awards.
