Do you quote when gaming?

I have two nasty cliché habits. In Condemned, whenever I destroy a door with an axe, I say: "Here's Johnny!" (from The Shining), and whenever I get the Gravity Hammer in Halo 3, I say: "Stop! Hammer Time!" (cause the initials for Master Chief is MC, and that's how the song begins)

Heh, I also scream "Hammer Time" into my mic when I get the grav hammer. Though "boom head shot" got old fast and should never be repeated.

There's a difference between clichés and quotes.

A cliché is something like the black guy being buff, loud, dumb, and sporting a minigun.

And no, not usually. Maybe as a joke when friends can hear it.

You? I thought you'd do that all the time, just to screw with people.
As for myself, if I'm doing poorly in a game, I try not to say the usual bland cuss combos.
I'd go for something like..."how the godfucking hell did that asslicking dickshit kill me? I shot him with two full magazines!"

I don't really know if it's cliche, but I do tend to quote some rather obvious things while playing DMC4:

- Whenever I use Real Impact: "Shin... SHORYUKEN!!"
- Whenever I use Buster on a Blitz: "AAAAATATATATATATATATATA-- WATAAAAH!!" (a la Kenshiro from HnK)
- Whenever I thrown down Pandora's Omen: *Insert high-pitched angelic wail here*

The only words to usually come out of my mouth when gaming would be: fuck, fucks sake, fuck this, etc.

When someone says try that usually means they have failed......

OT: I always say "Thats going to leave a stain" when I get a critical hit, with the plasma rifle and they turn into goo...

I quote a lot of things whilst playing online, but mostly from movies. Don't know whether I'd class that as using cliches...

I do sometimes make up lines that sound like corny action film lines. Maybe that's worse than the cliche thing...

It's not a cliche... Cliche is something that is often repeated in movies, games. Like this:

You go through the game, and your ally betrays you. That's an obvious cliche, especially if he has helped you more than anyone else.

Or that (okay, sorry, don't kill me for this one) protagonist is looking for a hero to do a quest, but it turns out that he is the hero.

This is just a thing you do sometimes. For example, I like to shout "DADADDADADADADA!!" when on a killing spree or something like that (like killing 5 enemies in a row in TF2/ Quake Wars).

Nope. I keep my crazy to myself, for the most part.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go wash the blood out of this apron.
Awww, drat...insanity is a gift that is meant to be shared with the world in all ways! Keeping other people on their toes is one of life's greatest callings to the crazies.

Technically, what you named also aren't cliches. They're actually called tropes. Cliches are universally considered to be contrived and dull. Tropes are just commonly-used story elements.

Well, what I listed was also contrived and dull. More dull. I mean, I get so tired of the "YOU ARE THE HERO AFTER ALL!!!" or "I WAS WORKING FOR THE ENEMY ALL ALONG!" in a movie.

Last time I saw it? Iron Man. God damn it, I knew that beardo* was a traitor.
