I was playing MW2 recently on my 360 and have seen the javelin glitch bocome more and more prevalent. I was wondering what do you in this situation? report them? try to beat them at their own game? Ignore them ? Leave the game?

Personally I report (although i don't know how much good it does) and i tell everyone in the game what they're doing and what their tag is so they'll know.

Definitely. I always report cheaters or glitchers. I'm not sure either that that actually does anything, Microsoft claims they look into every complaint filed but I reported cheaters in Gears 2 only to run into them again a week later, but just in case. I also give them negative feedback so I hopefully won't end up in another game with them. (although again I've never seen any proof that feedback actually affects anything on XBL.)

By the way, the Javelin glitch is an exceptional case because apparently Microsoft actually bans people who are found using that. That's not something they normally do as far as I know.

I've not seen anyone use the javelin glitch before, also I can't tell who is glitching or not :)

Nah, but me and my friend have a habit of bad repping people who steal our care packages should we die after throwing the marker and not make it there in time.

Nah, if the enemy gets it after killing me, thats just their task, its just team mates that wind me up.

Is it easy to report people on 360?

Currently annoying as fuck to report people on Steam, and all I'm doing is reporting their profile. I have seen 6 separate aimbotters today.

God IW pisses me off. Damn useless.

Report, report aaand report. Glitches shouldn't be there in the first place.

Funny how this seems to be a 360 problem. Seems gamers on the PC (and I don't know about the ps3) can get over it and find a work-around. I always thought screaming 'you're not playing it right' was a childish way of dealing with people finding new ways of killing you. But why bother learning to get around it when you could just whine...
Cute. Trying to justify exploiting by patronizing people. Give me a break. Exploiting =! "finding new ways to kill you"

Yes I report them when they glitch and/or cheat. Thought that would be a pretty standard response to it.

I do agree with the nightmare that is reporting people on Steam. As far as I can tell the only way is to report the profile...
Yeah that's what I've been doing, no idea if Steam even follows it up, I can't make demo's cause I can't spectate. Hell, the last match I was in, Steam wouldn't even bring up the player list for the game, so I couldn't get the aim-botters ID. Pissed me off royally. And he started talking crap as the game ended.

Most of them aren't even subtle about it, they flaunt it willingly because Steam/VAC are apparently useless.

Apparently you think people doing the glitch care if you get mad over it. Personally I almost want to get MW2 just to do that glitch to people, as if to say "this is what you paid for so stop buying fps games simply for multiplayer." Then again I don't play fps games that aren't Fallout 3 (and I damn sure won't break that rule for something Activision is getting money from).

Apparently you don't realize that no one cares if they think we get mad over it. The purpose of reporting glitchers is to remove them from the game, because they are cheating, it has nothing to do with getting angry.

I suppose if they aren't directly changing the game then I don't think I worry about it concidering they will patch it at some point, though I do get pissed about the javelin glitch (Seriously the blast is so freaking big!) but I beleive I have seen a hacker befor, Iv'e seen a grenade get curved 90 degrees right in front of me no lies!

Meh, don't run into much that often (don't play MewTwo)

But I'll give someone a bad rep if they are cheating/being a dickface

Fair enough, be careful on hardcore then as i have occasionally been killed because i dropped an ac130 in. It also has meant i've killed quite a few of my team whilst they try to steal my crates :D

I report it, simply because it gives the developers a chance to improve.

(Also, This thread needs a poll)

I generally don't report people online. Mostly because I don't often come across glitchers or cheaters very frequently, and also because I don't know how to report them in the first place (unlike The Escapist, there is no big red report button to press...)

I report glitchers and laggers all the time in KZ2 and COD. They are cheating and it isn't fair to everyone else. Yes, I could play their game and pad my stats, but what is the point of having great stats if they were falsely attained.

I always seem to get people who try to steal it from me on my own team even when I haven't died. That package had an EMP dammit!
