Do you see yourself playing video games at age 60?

Definitely, I always love the things I loved as a kid, we find new perspectives to view and experience things as times change, the same for games. I may not even be playing current games when I'm that old but I'll sure as hell still play older games.

I don't think I will be. When I look at the years I've been gaming, I notice a gradual decline in the time I play them. I begin to lose interest in them quicker than I had in the past.

Well my dad's over 50 years old and not only is he the man who got me into gaming but he also plays many games and keeps up with the release stream.

But I reckon I'll be gaming well into my 60's.

Probably. If I'm still alive. Or I don't have arthritis. My family tends to develop that quite early on. Both sides of it.

The difference between the people here and the people who are 60 now, is that most of us have grown up with videogames, while the 60-year olds of today haven't. It's not that they're too old to play videogames, it's just that they aren't used to them.

Most of the people on this site are in their teens or twenties and have been playing videogames for a large part of their life. It's possible that circumstances will force some people to stop spending time on games, but I imagine most young people today (especially the 'gamers') will still be happily playing games on their future-computers when they're old and gray.

My gf's dad is like 62 and plays scrabble and darts games on his wife's DS
I'd like to think I'll be gaming then. I'll definitely be gaming at 40, so why not 60?

I don't. But then again I don't see myself living until that age either. If I keep at the pace I'm going at, the fatal heart attack or malignant tumor will strike around my late 30s.

I don't see why not. They're just another form of entertainment like books or movies. Well.. I probably will so long as the games mature along with me. I'd like to see some that aren't aimed at a younger audience or have bad script writing and too much action (like any Arnold movie).

Yea of course, because I was exposed to games since a young age and they have become part of my life and I cant see that ever stopping.

most people this age can't conceive of themselves existing at 60, let alone what past time they'll have.. Just remember though, there are physical issues, even when holding a controller. My mom was a hardcore gamer in her 40s, but in her 50s, she can hardly hold a controller for longer then an hour or two without having serious pain.

I guess so. And I'm going to tell my grandchildren, "back in my days, we didn't have any PlayStation 12. All games were in 2D and the controllers were flat, with a total of eight buttons and a control pad."

Well i've got a long way to go before i'm 60... I can't even predict where i'm going to be 6 months from now, much less 38 years from now. I'd like to think that I will, but I honestly don't have a clue.
