Do you still read web comics?

I remember a time where web comics were my obsession. The more the better. I used to be a huge fan of Ctrl-Alt-Del before...things happened, and Penny Arcade. I never got into Homestuck however, I didn't have the time or the patience to go through what I believed to be a mountain of pages and "interactive" bits. I used to be big into 8-bit theater as well. Then one day I just kinda stopped. I'm not sure if reader fatigue set in or if I had become too invested in certain series and then found out too much about the people behind the comics *cough*Buckley*cough* but I just stopped checking for updates.

So I guess the question I have for anyone out there is: do/did you read web comics and if so what were they and drew you to them? Any recommendations outside of the more popular stuff like Penny Arcade or Homestuck?

For instance: I'll occasionally check out awkwardzombie's comics, mainly because I feel like the comics have a very fun and silly sense of video game logic:

I only read Awkward Zombie now, cause well, she is really funny, and I really like the blurbs she adds at the bottom. Main issue with web comics is I forget about them, and unlike youtube where I can forget a channel then it pop up in my recommendation stuff, most web comics are on their own site that I have to remember exists.

XKCD, Erin Dies Alone and Critical Miss are the only ones I'll go out of my way to read.

There are a couple on Twitter I like too, but I don't seek them out. Baby Sheep Comics, Heck If I Know Comics.

The only one I still read on a weekly basis are just Awkward Zombie and Gamercat.

There were a few more I used to read but I just lost interest-

Manly guy doing manly thing- I lost it when she added a plot to it or rather the main guy origin story. Sure I know she still do one of strip like last week but still, why the guy is from the future and why does other guy has pet dino chickens?

Nerf Now- Ok I still check this one every week or so but I don't read it daily on release. Alot of the strip gags are based on games I never played.

Megatokyo- The plot kind went pear shape to me after the main guy was reunited with the girl. This was somewhere after volume 3 or 4 of the books itself. I just confuse on why they couldn't find that gothgirl and the next scene was they just found her in some hospital.

Bleedman Suger Bits- Again the plot just went pear shape on me after they escape from that nightmare ish world and yet the heroine just went back there for no good reason afterward.

So yeah, story plots in webcomics can be an issue for me...

Sure. I've even got them categorized into "updates X times a week", "don't know/varies", "NSFW" and "New/Sorting Folder".
Not that I read them when they update. More like when I'm bored and/or got some time to kill.

Too many in my folders to properly list them all but I can do a top/favorite ones.

Oglaf, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, Girl Genius, GaMERCaT, Scandinavia and the World, Dark Legacy, XKCD, etc.

I love my daily/bi-weekly/weekly webcomics. They're a huge part of my routine, and sometimes the only reason to get motivated to get out of bed...
The ones I check absolutely regularly are Questionable Content, Dumbing of Age, SMBC, XKCD, Menage ? trois, Gunnerkrigg Court, Go Get A Roomie! and Sarah's Scribbles.
Awkward Zombie I check every once in a while, and sometimes even go for an archive binge, because it's just SO consistently funny X) The same with Scandinavia and the World.
Homestuck I once delved into, and made the already long journey to the 5th Act. There were many scenes and plottwists and the like that I REALLY REALLY liked, would even call iconic, but the 5th Act, with all those trolls... I somehow lost interest. And after all that time it would be SO hard to get into it again; I'd need to read all of it one more time, because a large part of the enjoyment is derived from seeing how these many, many little details start to culminate in something big.

xkcd is the only one I follow, because it actually makes me freaking laugh.

Only problem is that I've only found one other person in my circles who even gets them.

...Thanks for reminding me I have over 100 webcomics I need to check. Yep, over 100. Some for the stories, some for the jokes [that I barely understand sometimes], yet more because I used to be one of the stupider Sonic fans [Yes, I have had my own "OC, DONUT STEEL" once...].

But, I understand why you might not enjoy some webcomics anymore.

XKCD, SMBC, Perry Bible Fellowship, Sequential Art, Critical Miss, and Erin Dies Alone, and El Goonish Shive (Don't like it that much, but still read it out of habit)

Used to read Oglaf, but it went from being absolutely hilarious to consistently unfunny. I'll still check on it once in a blue moon though. XKCD has been moving in that direction for me lately as well. I can't remember the last time I've found one funny. The others have remained pretty consistently solid though. Frankly, I am surprised with how funny SMBC can still be given the 1 comic per day rate.

By the way, if you're a fan of SMBC and haven't checked out the videos from BAHFest, you really should. This one is still probably my favorite:

I read a few.

Girl Genius. The one that alerted me to the fact that webcomics other than gag-a-day strips exist. It's funny and I love the art style. (Except during that one chapter when they had a terrible colourist, you'll know it if you see it.) Very expressive without being overly exaggerated.

Erfworld. Err.. I don't actually recommend it. It's set on a world that follows the rules of a turn-based strategy game. It's inherently very silly but plays everything with a straight face and the constant references are a bit tiresome. I actually prefer the prose sections to the comic sections. Art is serviceable at best.

Guilded Age. D&D/MMO flavoured fantasy. Enjoyable enough. Love some of the characters. There's a big twist in chapter 9 that rather took the shine off it though, your mileage may vary.

Lovesyck. I'm still not sure what the fuck I'm reading here, but I'm pretty sure I like it. It describes itself as a "punk-porno graphic novel/deep space nightclub medical rock opera" if that's any help. Love the artwork. It's like being able to read someone else's mild acid trip. It's a prequel to Lovelyss which isn't as good but still pretty enjoyable in a goofy sort of way. (NSFW, but if you're charging off to check them out because of the "porno" part, you're likely to be disappointed.)

Oglaf. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's not. Occasionally it's just kinda gross. I find it worth putting up with the unfunny and gross in order to get to the funny bits. Nice to see it getting some love here.

Stand Still, Stay Silent. Can't decide if this is any good. I do like the illustration though. God only knows how the artist manages to churn them out at the speed she does. Efficient workflow I guess.

Ooooh, I forgot to mention one: Shootaround. Awesome webcomic, very nice mix of humor, seriousness and feels. In a typical Zombie Apocalypse, but stay with me: one, this setting only serves as a background for the varied and awesome cast, and two, many of the usual clich?s are either parodied, or subverted, through pragmatic thinking of the characters.

EDA has really lost me now, it started promising but has devolved into stretching out the same jokes about well known games 20 times longer than they need to be ("Hey Cloud is an emo longer, isn't that funny?".

I keep meaning to go back to XKCD as it's been a while so I've got a good few to catch up on, Saturday morning breakfast cereal is still pretty good and I will go see ctrl-alt-del purely for the morbid curiosity every so often.

Oh, yeah, plenty of 'em. I've been keeping up with a bunch of 'em for years. Things like XKCD, Supernormal Step, Manly Guys Doing Manly Things, Go Get a Roomie, Guilded Age, Rock Cocks (warning: good art, mostly porn), Oglaf (was porn, now it's... something else?), Penny Arcade (rarely), Order of the Stick and Goblins.

I've swapped a few out or lost track of some over the years (I read Ctrl-Alt-Del for waaay longer than is really justifiable; used to follow Looking For Group but stopped when I realized I had no clue where the plot was going), but generally speaking I've always been reading a few webcomics no matter what. I'm a sucker for stories and character arcs, so stumbling across a new webcomic usually results in me going through 50+ pages to figure out if I like it or not.

I had around 200 at one point or another.

I still read a fair number of web comics these days. I've downsized the number a lot, mostly due to me not having the patience to find half of them and then figure out where I was after a couple of separate events, but I still follow some of my favorites and have come across a few new ones over the years.

Yup. I mostly just follow Kill Six Billion Demons [http://killsixbilliondemons.com/comic/kill-six-billion-demons-chapter-1/] (go read it. It's got kung-fu angels, drinking contests with devils and a shit load of other stuff all wrapped up in a really cool mythology. Shit's good), but I've checked out a few others including Ava's Demon [http://www.avasdemon.com/] (but that doesn't update regularly), Birdboy [http://bird-boy.com/comic/2010-09-6-promo-page/] (which is now on hiatus until the next chapter is released) and Unsounded [http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/], although I've only got about halfway through it.

Wow, more replies than I thought I'd get. Cool.

I remembered Oglaf. It was pretty funny up until a certain point after the sorceress's apprentice was killed.
I used to follow twokinds back when I was starving for animoo. I check in on that every few months. That comic is in no hurry to accomplish much of anything plotwise.
I'll check in on cucmber quest every now and then too. I love the art style. Hard to believe that's the same person who did the "let's destroy metal gear" series.
There was a French artist who drew some comics called Maliki that I liked.
There was "Living with Hipster Girl and Gamer Girl"
VGCats was alright. I stopped reading when the artist pretty much have up on any sort of clever humor and instead resorted solely on gross out and Gore humor.
I used to love reading Bleedman stuff, but its so mired in itself that any coherency went out the window for me a long time ago.
