Now its been a while since Extra Credits moved back to youtube after that that whole fiasco. So, my question is do any of you still watch it? Do you think it's still as good as when it was here on the escapist?

EDIT: Why is my poll constantly dissappearing?

From time to time, whenever I end up on Penny Arcade, I catch up on that and Checkpoint. I would say their quality is still about the same. They do seem to be getting more recognition lately though, which will help them achieve their goals. I did prefer them to be here mind, if just for the fact that it was easier to have everything all in one place.

Not not really, I can just never be bothered. It doesn't interest me enough anymore.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel. I bookmarked them when they first started up on Penny Arcade, but I don't even really follow the webcomic (despite finding it hilarious), most of the time I just don't bother to check up on what they've done. They're pretty consistent in their quality, but they just aren't that interesting anymore because everything needs to be high-brow and intellectual with them.

I can appreciate that, but sometimes I just prefer the Jim Sterling method of approaching topics.

[sub]Yes you are, you stalker :p[/sub]

But yeah I'd much rather watch The Jimquisition. You get the same analysis of the industry without the pretentiousness and some actual humour.

Yes, but some (though not all) of their more recent episodes have been just a little dull. Still, mostly worth watching.

Yeah, they can be pretentious at times, but it's still interesting to watch, they did a three part segment on JRPGs vs Western RPGs a while back that was really good.

I kind of stopped watching because they stopped posting little youtube reminders, you reminded me to check up on them. :p

I don't know. They're still pretty informative, but more often than not I find myself uninterested in the topic they decide to tackle. It's nothing wrong with them, just my own personal interests.

I'm sure I'll still occasionally check up on them if I remember.

No, I remember watching their programming episode after it was linked on a game development forum and just finding it awful and poorly researched. So obviously that brings in the uncertainty that maybe on subjects I don't know as much about, they are also talking utter bs.

I think the month wait or so and the cringeworthy MMO addiction episodes put me off. And I can't watch their show anymore without feeling that it was tainted by the whole very immature drama they had over the internet.

Only ever watched one full episode and really disliked it. Tried watching them again and couldn't physically force myself to sit through it.

So no, no I don't watch them. Couldn't cope with them when they were here so not much chance of me going elsewhere to have my ears tortured by a chipmunk voiced stuck up pillock.

^The Extra Credits experience in a nutshell. IMO they ran out of interesting things to talk about 3/4 of the way through the first "season."

since i read penny arcade anyway i still watch them.
i bugs me that in the last couple of month they spend a lot of time o topics that only tangentially relate to gaming. i just hope it doesn't turn into a "what James would like to talk about" kinda thing.

The only reason I started watching was because it was on the Escapist. So now that it's gone...

The same applies to probably every series I watch here apart from Zero Punctuation.

I continued to watch it once it was moved to Youtube, but I only watch it in bursts now that its on PATV. I really did like the show at one time but A: Im not going to a proprietary website I would not visit otherwise just to see the show, and B: After the whole departure thing, the more light that was shed on the situation it really started to feel like the guys behind EC were actually in the wrong if their current handling of affairs is any indication on how they worked with the Escapist staff.

Now I cant help but to see them as being highly idealized but completely impractical. Having seen that first hand in their actions (hows that indie fund rollin guys?) how they behave in practical application really devalues all the idealism they talk about in the show in my personal estimation.
