Recently, like 5 minutes ago, I realised that I have a weird little habbit. I try talking to objects that won't work. I discovered this by trying to get my wireless antenna to work for my new Xbawx 360, naturally it didn't work, even after I tried concentrating really hard and hoping to make it work with the sheer srength of my mind. Still nothing.

Anyway, do yo you do this? Or have any other weird little things you do which you have noticed about yourself?

this isn't a help thread in disguise, even though it would be appreciated

I talk to inanimate objects all the time. Working in retail it comes up alot when technology fails you and even at home. I don't find it strange tho, all my family do it.

Talking to someone is usually a good way to motivate them to find a job.

Usually only when I'm very angry. Also, even then I'm not really talking to those things.

I violently accost things to make them work. This includes, but is not limited to: My computer, my projector, my peers in school, and my pet fish.

I used to do that when I was younger, but I stopped when I almost broke my wrist after smashing it into my computer tower.

I scream and kick my computer, does that count?

Also, you need to buy a adapter for the Xbox, you know that right?

EDIT: [sub]And weren't you the person that looked like Seth McFarlane?[/sub]
I suppose it does count even if your computer probably hates you for it, and I have the adapter, the damn thing just won't work.

Yeah that was me, apparently.

Yeah, during football matches I concentrate hard when my team's in attack.
And I yell at things that doesn't work.

It's a bit wierd, I guess. Also, I hate my NAT settings. I can't change my modem's settings, and it bothers me a lot.

I no longer need to talk to and tell my stuff what to do.

Why you ask.

I made and example out of the coffee brewer. I got all my elections out side one day and my car and made them watch as I bashed it in with a ax.

They all do as there supposed to now.

This actually made me laugh. I'm sure that finding a militant dictator's approach to sorting out your electronics funny is kind of disturbing.

I do, a lot.
I also name them.
I used to yell and threaten but sweet talking works a lot better.
OH!
When i play RPG's like Fire Emblem, and it does something that makes no sense, like i get hit by a enemy with a 13% HIT and a Luck of 3 or one gets a critical hit when it has a CRT of ohh 2%, i get really angry and actually point it out to the game.
And for the rest of the chapter.....nothing like that ever happens again.

I dont talk to things that dont work, more like swear at them and abuse them in futile rage. My PC is nearly always the cause of this rage.

I have too many objects to name them but I did name my.. manliness, Maxwell. I just really like the way it sounds, its also a pretty manly name so I think it works out nicely.

I talk to my dog like he's human. Somehow I think he understands me, and by his body language he communicates back. It's really quite odd.
