Meet Christian Grey [http://fiftyshadesofgrey.wikia.com/wiki/Christian_Grey]. The fictional man whose got millions of women worldwide masturbating furiously to his erotic exploits.

And no, he's not a male mirror of a sexualized female wearing skimpy clothes. He is, however, a fictional man possessing every shallow quality women generally favour in their fantasies (not implying they favour such things in actual reality) in exactly the same way that fictional sexualized women possess every shallow quality men generally favour in their fantasies.
This female sex fantasy is pretty much a feminist nightmare. Powerful, rich, dominating, control freak who views women as objects for his sexual pleasure.

It would scare the industry. Except for all the opposite reasons. The screams of sexism would be a 1000 times worse than anything Lara Croft could conjure.

He's not of my invention, wouldn't have made him as he is if he was.

But that nonetheless is one of the most popular examples of sexualized men in media.

And it's not nearly as big a feminist nightmare as you'd imagine. Whilst I haven't read the book popular formula for such books involve the man generally being unfulfilled and unhappy with his current life and the woman coming in, fixing whatever problems the man has through means the man would never think of and consequently proving her independence and ability whilst ensuring happiness for both herself and her man.

It kinda boils down to taming said man by giving him 'treats' if one looks at it very cynically.

I thought the JRPG/final fantasy type guys were like that with the boy-band looks, tight fitting clothes and leather belts strapped around all extremities. This would include Resident Evil and Devil may cry protagonists. Maybe they aren't as explicit though. Maybe they need to break out the banana hammocks to really attract the ladies, I dunno.

I would welcome some sexualized males even if it would make everyone shut up about the sexualization of females in games. What the hell is wrong with sexualization? Not a damn thing.

Games with douchey pretty boys probably would sell terribly though. Mostly guys buy games, and no guy is going to want a singleplayer game with these characters because of the obvious focus on characters in single-player games.

dear homosexual gods I hope so! I've been waiting for a game to have the balls to objectify the male body in the same fashion that the industry tends to do with females.

However, now is serious mode, I speak from a stance of personal interest rather than objective fact; so would the game sell?

Well it would depend on a great deal of vectors and variables if the game would sell. The genre would be very important, recent RPGs have already included a fair amount of homosexual characters and have included love scenes for said characters, so it could be claimed they are already objectifying the male body but it seems most gamer just haven't noticed it yet.

If the genre was something like a jingoistic war FPS then well I'm fairly sure it would not sell. Now I'm a fan of jingoistic FPS war titles like the Medal of Honor series and the Modern Warfare series because of the game play. Would I buy the game if the male characters got naked? No likely not, wouldn't add anything to the game. Now a love story in the form of a war time FPS, I'd play the hell out of that.

Objectifying the human body is an issue that basically comes down to opinion, is it moral isn't really a question. Humans sort of enjoy seeing whatever gender turns them on in sexual situations but at the same time respect for your fellow humans is very important. It is an issue I can't claim to be an expert on nor can I claim to be an expert on any issue so I guess I'm just ranting.
Yes because internet. its like selling space flavored lemonade someone somewhere will like it and on this planet even the most niche would make millions

Basically the same deal...
I don't agree it's quiet the same. Heterosexual men and women are attracted to different things. I don't know many women who find men in feminine poses attractive. And while many women like a man's butt I don't think we have the same preferences to how that part of the body is emphasized.
Exactly that picture is what we in the biz call...

FALSE EQIVALENCE! ie not the same. what women find sexy is clearly on the poster as well as what men find sexy.(straight or otherwise) everyone sexualizes just differently.

that comparison was created to push a certain philosophy/agenda.

Psst... they already do that in games! Its just perceived differently because of gender issues! It's weird and Freudian and complicated but it does happen right now. Just so you know. Don't tell anyone though.

Hang on, if it was meant to be a true parody, shouldn't the girls be poorly developed as well? Regular, and the main focus of the storyline and such, sure, but I think even they should be a bit shallow on character.

I'd buy it if the female lead constantly, constantly found herself stumbling across the male characters when they're nearly/totally in the nude, getting super embarrassed and trying to convince them it was an accident, failing, and then getting punched by the guy and flying down the hall like a pinball.

No- wait... that.. uh, doesn't sound funny with the roles reversed. Oh hell, it isn't really funny the normal way either. Just chuck it in and if anyone complains just tell them it's a reflection of the current state of such media, making the game cutting edge satire.

Yes. Only difference is that girls do it on a complete different level. I didn?t think that either side realize they are standing on opposite side of a room blindly screaming swearword at each other that only result in one side being labeled ?perverted pigs? and the other as ?hypocritical bitc#s?. It?s like the saying ?the grass is greener on the other side? only it?s ?the sexualization is smuttier on the other side? (I feel like that line belong is south park)

Wait what? Kristin Stewart is good at acting? The girl with the unchanging blank expression on her face, who says 'um' as half of her lines is good at acting?

Okay. You might want to sit down for this. But ... ... *hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh* (the sound of a long breath, for those who didn?t catch that) she is actually a good actor and can actually act sadly the twilight shait have now labeled her as a flesh puppet with less emotions then a high professor snape. But yes. She can act. In other movies (snow white shait not included) she acts the way an actor acts. If there are someone who can?t act it?s the highest paid (and highest) actor on tv. Charlie sheen (still, I love him) all he can play is himself. A people hating, drug using, alcoholic, gambling, sex obsessed douche bag. but Kristin actually do other parts (but she still ain't even half as good as Emma Watsoon)

Calling Kristin Stewart a good actress is like calling Tom Cruz intelligent and ironically that idiot pretty boy can actually act. I've seen nothing she's done that couldn't be done by some half baked soap opera actress. She must have something over lady luck because talent she has not.

Cheating cop-out solution: get it to look like and be Tom Hiddleston. But yeah, male sexuality is already a thing in the medium.

This is something that has been bothering me and my perverted female friends for a while.
Theres no equality in fanservice at all, and we thought of a good way to get the point across in this industry would be to make a Suda51 style 'Parody'slash'Satire' game of fanservice, which The main character is a skinny young Man who is constantly in skimpy outfits and having really off-putting shots of his crotch, who has male friends who are also sexualized a lot which would be the several stereotypes of men and the only Female characters in the game would be Regular well developed characters A la April Ryan, with gameplay akin to Bayonetta just to push the knife further in.
But then we thought that this wouldn't sell at all, which makes sense.
What do you guys think? Would you want this? would you play this?

Edit: I fixed something i REALLY didn't want to say.
Just to be clear, I AM NOT A SHOTACON.
Suppose there are two main points such games are not spread:
1) Most developers are male, so, y'know... Errr...
2) Females are supposed as less profitable buyers: there is less girls in gaming, so why take risks of making serious projects oriented on them?

The Devil May Cry series did pretty well, didn't it? And its main character was sexualised, wasn't he? It can work, it just needs to have something other than male sexuality to succeed. Contrary to popular opinion, nothing succeeds on sexuality alone (except for porn and erotica).

I think male sexuality is something which is actually quite hard (apologies for the pun) to sell. Sure, you can have your David Beckhams and Daniel Craigs who women lust after, but I think the more lucrative business is female sexuality because it appeals to both men ("ooh, sexy lady!") and women ("ooh, aspirational!"). In the office which I work, both sexes comment on a photo of Beyonce, saying that her boobs look fab, but a photo of Johnny Depp is drooled over by the ladies and the guys just ignore it.

The point I am trying to make is that it would seem that physical female sexuality makes for better business than male. I'd bet that there would be more guys responding to bouncing boobs than chicks responding to a bouncing willy, lols aside.

Theres a subtle difference... me and my mates (who are secure about our sexuality) don't bother looking and Johnny Depp because we have no attraction or appreciation of other men's faces.
Brad Pitt in snatch or Christiano Ronaldo's physique we can appreciate. Something to strive for- physical perfection. Super imposing yourself. In rpg's i'm sure people tend to make characters that are better versions of themselves.
Sexualising men would not put me off a game as long as a guys arse isn't the only thing on the screen
Wait, people actually aspire to be these completely unrealistic men who are only able to be that way because they use the ridiculous amounts of money they are paid for doing very little just to work out and live the good life?

Depends on what level, Solid Snake and Dante from DMC4 are sexualized and they sold well. I believe if they turned that up a little bit they could still sell. Though I'm not sure about OP's idea.

Though from the parody description I keep imagining this:

What the hell is that? I watched the whole damn thing and I still don't know what the hell was happening.

hey hey hey. don't put words in my mouth. i never said she was a good actor, i said she could act. in a lot of the stuff she did before twilight she weren't that bad. actually kind of likable. but the twilight thing is going to hang over her head for years as a "i am a terrible actor" neon sign. and i don't blame her i blame Stepheny Mayer and the the scrotum with limbs they got to direct these piece of shit movies. and Bella. the most horrible character ever. i'll me honest i liked the Hitler in der untergang more then Bella in twilight. HITLER! she is a manipulating, cheating, good awful, emotionless, selfish, stupid fuck ass piss shit GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH *mouth foaming*

and to prove how much i hate twilight i suggest you gather round so i can tell you a tale. my EX gf forced my to see the breaking dawn part 1 (and before you ask. yes i yelled "KILL IT WITH FIRE" when i saw the tickets) lucky the internet exist so i had gotten the news that bells dies in this one. i also knew that my friend had to come to so we put our heads together and made a plan. so i brought a party whistle and a bottle of child Champlain (i was til underage and in my country it's really really ilieagl to have alcohol in public so i took the next best)i then suffered for what seemed like year. but then the scene where she dies came. and i was so happy i popped the bottle and blew the whistle. and then we where escorted outside but it was so worth it.
