Watched Expendables 2 and it was hard to see how out of shape Arnold was compared with Sylvester. Arnold did have a heart failure thing going and thats why he became fat....but now that hes doing movies again do you think hes going to get back in shape? Maybe do some steroids and become more fit that what Sylvester is today?

Is Arnold working out?

(To passive aggressive losers : No one cares if you don't care about this. Be miserable on someone elses times)

I don't care about this, you loser. :)
I disagree that if he gets more muscular again the old Arnold mgic of his old movies like Total Recall will come back. It's probably too late to bring that back because he's old now. Stalone's physique was never as exaggeratedly muscualar as that of Arnold's, which is probably why he can maintain it better. Same with Bruce Willis.

I just had to stop by and comment. They're s howing "Red Heat" on TCM right now with Arnold and James Belushi. I'd never seen him that physically fit. Anyways... no idea if he's working out but it'll be nice to see him in the movies again.

Well, if he is, it's harder to tell because he was wearing a ridiculous outfit during the whole movie. Anyway, Terminator 4, the death of John Connor anyone?

Given steroids and that level of training in a man of his age would be tantamount to suicide I doubt it. Like a lot.

I'm really looking forward to next year's Conan movie. I'm by no means expecting Arnold to get as jacked as he was for Barbarian 30 years ago but it would be good for him to bulk up a bit for the role. That way, when he's portraying an aged warrior king, at least it wouldn't look like he gave up on life.

I really didnt notice how out of shape he was instead I noticed how he has had a bit too much work done on his face.

Arnold might be working out but i doubt he will ever get to the Conan/Hercules in New York look again. Also him doing steroids again at his age would be committing suicide.

Well in all fairness Stallone isn't in the shape he's in entirely due to hard work, he was busted with HGH a couple of years ago. Working out more than he is or taking *ahem* "performance enhancing supplements" at his age with his bum ticker would be more likely to result a massive heart attack or stroke than it would result in him reliving his glory days. Then again so would smoking cigars and doing movie roles that require physical exersion but that doesn't seem to have stopped him from doing both :p

I had no idea there is a new Conan movie so thanks for that! :D
Regarding steroids, isnt "horomone replcement theory" whats popular these days?

I'm thinking that Arnold might be forced to consider low-impact workouts if he does want to beef up prior to taking up Conan's sword again. Nix the juicers and the aggressive diets and training regimens - he's too old to Hulk out the way, say, Chris Hemsworth had to to be able to fit Thor's character in time for Avengers. Not to mention that it's already out there that Hemsworth isn't interested in slogging through that a third time for Avengers 2.

The point is, training that intensively is doable when you're in your twenties or thirties. Past that, the body starts putting up pretty massive Stop signs in a few places. Decent maintenance is something that can be considered, but I wouldn't be surprised if Conan's return involving the Cimmerian being oddly covered-up for most of his onscreen appearances.

The short of it is I highly doubt he's going to be able to go back to "Pumping Iron" levels. You'd have to nullify the created stress on his aging heart and that's pretty much impossible.

I would just like to point out: Ahnold was never more fit than Stallone... he was just far more muscular. That makes Stallone the one who was in better physical condition... and it shows to this day.

as an aside:
I love how obvious it is that Stallone is standing on a box or something to make himself appear to be almost as tall as Ahnold. Still my favorite Hollywood joke.

On topic: pretty sure he won't bulk up again. He'll probably focus on losing a fair percentage of his fat, but like many have said... he's too old to bulk up again with any modicum of safety (honestly, it wasn't that safe to begin with).
