Do you think skyrim is evil?

After investing close to 70 hours of gameplay I put the controller down and think to myself...what have I done? It seemed like everything I accomplished in the game did little to actually change anything in the world and the NPC's just didn't give a shit. So what do you think? Does Skyrim have no soul? Or would you rather not think about it and slay some dragons.

I kind of hate when people say that "Skyrim has no soul". It just sounds like a pretentious way of saying that the game sucks.

That being said, I kind of wished there were some more major changes to the land after doing the main quest and the College of Winterhold quest line. But hey, I'm not going to complain too much about it. My only real complaint about the game was the amount of glitches in the game. Including some that made it so that some quests do not want to work.

skyrim has no heart. beautiful world, no heart. the marriage system is a joke. the companions are glorified pack mules. 90% of npcs are completely forgettable.

What have you accomplished?

You increased your One-Handed skill by two ranks and your Restoration by one rank, then hit level 26.

Epic stuff, wouldn't you say?

I don't know. I prevented the end of the world (again), I drove the empire out of yet another province and put the drove what is like a fatal nail in their origination by killing an emperor. I killed dragons and ancient evils and stole treasures that were thought untouchable.

And that damn bastard in Whiterun still acts all snotty like I'm still fresh off the wagon

I've noticed a backlash against Skyrim by a minority of players after the honeymoon phase ended and they realized the game's many, many flaws. It hardly deserved GOTY in my book; I'd say the bottom half of top 10 at best.

I don't like how little impact choices have on the game but I still like it. Still my GOTY for 2011 by far. Then again I didn't think DA2 was the Antichrist like many others seem to so what do I know.

Maybe the problem is that people expect the developers to do all the work and creating realistic life simulators. We create the "soul" of the game ourselves by immersing in the world and letting out imaginations create the story between the lines.

I think it may get better with some DLC and some serious modding after the CK is released

We've had this discussion already. [www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.336533-Skyrim-is-bad-as-an-RPG-but-would-have-been-decent-as-an-action-adventure-Discuss?page=1] Skyrim isn't a good RPG because the world isn't responsive to the player, actions have no consequences.
