A long time ago i asked the Escapists (that's you lot) if you felt pretty. The "Do you think you are attractive" thread got a lot of reactions so here I am with another bit of interest for you.

Can you dress to impress?

Does your personality shine forth and make up for any physical defects you may or may not have?

Basically, regardless of base physical attractiveness, we can all still be beautiful because of the clothes we wear or the way we speak. It's all about presentation.

So, Escapists, do you have Style?

I have a style...not sure if it's a good style but it's one none the less! Generally I can dress to impress if I keep it simple and don't go over the top. Simplicity just works damnit!

Yes.

And I'll be honest, it irritates me when people say they don't care what they wear or how they look, because it normally means that they look like they've either been dressed by their mum, or like they can't dress themselves.

There's the whole "cool suits" idea that nerds have too - the one Jim Sterling wears in the new video thing he does here is the perfect example. It looks cheap as hell, the tie is fucking awful (and looks cheap too), and it probably doesn't even fit him remotely. Its normally par for the course with that sort of thing that the jacket is too long, and so are the trousers.

You don't have to look like a fucking model who gets dressed by designers, but have some self respect, and if you don't know, just look at what other people wear to get some ideas.

I have a grand total of about 6 different outfits that consist of t-shirts and jeans that I wear everywhere. I have had only those 6 outfits for about 3 years now, which is about the time my last and final growth spurt ended. They aren't hideous by any means, but they certainly aren't the most fashionable clothes around. I prefer to spend my money on games/snowboards/motorcycle gear, that stuff is expensive and as long as there aren't massive tears all over my clothes I don't see the point in replacing them.

Generally try to dress up nice if I am going out. Almost always wear a shirt (as opposed to a t-shirt) and often wear a tie. Also my waist coat get a stupid amount of use.
Not really trying to actively impress people, I just like to look good... or at least try.

Nnnnnnnnnn, don't know about 'having style', but I have 'a style', which is to say 'black clothes' (typical get-up is jeans, plain T plus shirt).

I don't look bad, so I'll go with it.

black/gray jeans and t-shirts I got from concerts. Before I started seeing bands live I was pretty much naked.

I also shaved my beard because I was dumb but I'm growing it back

I think I dress in clothes that suit me. Jeans, band t-shirts, hoodies. I wear a lot of band-labelled clothes, usually rock, metal or punk bands. I even have awesome Mastodon Blood Mountain shoes [http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.chartattack.com/files/imagecache/content_image-680xauto/chart_global/news/mastodon_1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.chartattack.com/news/70703/vans-releasing-mastodon-shoe-series&usg=__KRMMu3G_kD9Y-NrDyw_iRUcIYPg=&h=453&w=680&sz=42&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=NFCi-kGPlI5CqM:&tbnh=127&tbnw=156&ei=KXWwTfLSDNCt8QOvsOX5Cw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dblood%2Bmountain%2Bvans%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26biw%3D1366%26bih%3D667%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch0%2C200&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=966&vpy=154&dur=70&hovh=183&hovw=275&tx=197&ty=66&page=1&ndsp=31&ved=1t:429,r:22,s:0&biw=1366&bih=667]. So long as your clothes fit you and aren't cheapo crap it's hard to dress badly really.

I wouldn't say I have style, I have my own style, but its in no way stylish. I wear shorts and t-shirts almost every single day, unless I'm wearing my Monty Python sweatshirt that has seen better days.

I could probably dress to impress but I usually don't bother.
I like dressing down more :D

I don't "dress to impress" to be honest. I have my own style and the main theme is the color black, it can't helped considering that my work involves me being in the shadows and fixing something.

So it's pretty much black jeans, and some dark colored shirt, and the occassional hoodie, seeing as I live in a freaking desert that's almost reserved for nighttime.

I look pretty good. I dress pretty well. I am however, totally silent nearly all the time. Adopting an attitude of speak only when spoken to but this hasn't caused me too many problems.

Pretty standard style. Jeans, cool shoes, a white t shirt with something unbuttoned over it. Shirt, cardigan, jacket. Something.

Yes.

Someone really important to me recently told me I "accessorize.... fabulously"

I love her to death :) I'm glad she notices.

I love a man who knows how to accessorize.

OT: Sometimes I care, others I don't. I can be pretty stylish if I want to be but I'm not in one of those moods. Besides, I don't exactly have a job anymore.

i normally just wear jeans, iron maiden vans, gaming related or band t-shirt and either my rise again s hoodie if its cold, or a short sleeved shirt. Sometimes i'll replace the jeans with combats and the vans with combat boots.
