Nah, Amnesia's endings were all pretty definite (Okay except for the best ending) and I think that it would have to be an in name only sequel for it work. Amnesia is pretty much Penumbra 2 (Overture and Black Plague were considered one game right?) in gameplay style anyway.
You do have a point.
Amnesia in itself explored the same elements but with better results.
So... It is an improvement of the original. It's Yahtzee's definition of a good sequel WITHOUT numbers after its title. Which is fantastic.
I'm tired of CoD 17, Medieval Warfare. (Joking).
CoD: Medieval Warfare: I think that's a Mount and Blade mod... Also joking.

On topic: Amnesia doesn't need a sequel, in my opinion. I have to say, I've played some add-on/mod campaigns for it. I'd be interested in seeing if anyone could use it to make a sequel-type or prequel type levelset for it.

Only of the spiritual sense, i.e. how Amnesia was something of a spiritual sequel to the Penumbra games.

If Silent Hill: Downpour doesn't magically return to the series' roots, there might not be a decent survival horror game released between Amnesia and Frictional's next game. They definitely need to keep making games their way.

It has one. It's an expansion called Justine. The games are quite different (it's more of a spiritual successor, though there are some ties to Daniel), but they are both under the "Amnesia" title.

Frictional Games have said that they aren't making another Amnesia. A shame really.

Ah yes, I forgot I had that. It came in an automatic steam update for the game. I'll have to try it out tonight and see if it's any good.

I believe I read somewhere on their site after the success of Amnesia that they were going to continue making these kinds of games though. That's all we really need.
