Does anybody else find it wierd/difficult to do friend requests on forums?

No idea why, I think they think that I am craving for attention or something like that.
And I hate attention whores.

I did that too.
Not adding friends and seeing who adds me, I did that 'till like 150 or something, then I added a few, then I got a few more, no idea what my friend count is at the moment but can't be much over 150

i havent added anyone as a friend so far on this site. Mostly because adding people i havent interacted with in real life feels wierd. then again i also dont see much point in friending people on the escapist anyway, it doesnt seem to do much or have much of a point.

However earlyer today i got really paranoid when i sent someone a friend request on a different website. Probably because they where the first frend request i sent and i kept thinking that they would think i was wierd, i resolved the dilema after 5 minutes of internal struggle when i relised "its the internet i'm (mostly) anonymous so what does it matter".

also i welcome all friend requests, no matter how creepy and stalkerish you are

I don't usually add people, a lack of confidence and underlying fear that they will decline the invite.
So I just wait for them to add me.
But some occasionally I feel super confident and go on an adding spree. Sometimes.

XD. It's different when I consider one of my friends has 4000+ 'friends' on facebook.
I can actually still work out everyone on my facebook to some extent.

3 family members; About 10 people I know in person. 15 or so more that I've at least met... about 5 related to various hobbies, and the remainder are related directly to facebook games...
(It's amazing how many requests you can end up with if you say it's OK for people to add you... >_<)

I would love to send/receive a request from Master Daystar but it will probably never happen , i also find it hard to make friends as i have a slight fear of rejection (but i will never reject anyone)
