Does anyone care about HOMM 6?

Big fan of the series, I just feel it reached it's zenith with HoMM 3. HoMM 2 was one of the best games i've ever played and I loved the graphics, sexy VGA. Still I havn't looked much at the series since 4, perhaps i should give 6 a whirl.

On a side note; with the success M&M Clash of heroes, and the turn based nature of the game I think HoMM is one of the few highly polished strategy games that could be effectively ported to a console. Don't get me wrong, long may the PC live, but good console strategy games are hard to come by and the series already has a bit of buzz from Clash of Heroes.

Is there a random map generator?

It has random map generator and Hot Seat.

Homm 6 just got a hell of a lot more interesting to me. On the other hand, Skyrim.

Actually I apologize. I was fairly certain that they included a RMG in one of the patches (or they just promised one) but I see there isn't one at the moment. So only Hot Seat is true in my earlier post, sorry for the misinformation.

Aw Man! Frowny face..... I will stick with HOMM 3 then.

I played some game, a long time ago. I think it said 'might and magic' on the box, but it was some kind of first person role playing game from a loong time ago.

Someone might be able to identify this game for me - I remember the opening scene had me in the middle of some battle in a village, surrounded by 2D sprits of lizard men, etc. Killed me instantly. That is all the knowledge I have of this enigmatic "might and magic" series. And it's probably actually another game.

Might and magic VIII. The last good might and magic game. Heroes of might and magic is technically set on the same planet (but not really) but are strategy games.

Wow I'm in a necro thread, reading posts by 3 years younger me... Aaah I was so young and naive back then, hoping that HOMM 6 had a generator... Those were the days.
